From all these happenings in last six weeks at LAC, and rapid commander’s meet one after the other, it would appear that Chinese are quite in a rush to disengage before the start of full blown winter. The next commander meet, eighth, has been scheduled much sooner than any time the previous meets in the summer time frame we’re scheduled.

Is it that they are nervous of Aug 29/30 surprise India may spring upon them. ..... Did you notice that those virulent and worthless commentaries in the Global Times are not there any more.

Other reasons could be that China is preparing to invade Taiwan. That they have been preparing in earnest in last six months much more earnestly than ever in last 60 years. Chinese have probably noticed two things .... 1). America is totally during elections and its aftermath not well prepared to defend Taiwan. ...2). People blaming China for coronavirus has abated. They after a lapse of five months are back to buying Chinese made consumer goods. The demand for China made intermediate industrial goods never abated whether Chinese Corona or not. Hence they have a model at hand and China manufacture will not abate.

Initially we thought that LAC move in April by China was due to an over active local commander trying to prove something. Now it is clear that LAC move in April was centrally directed. They misread Indian resolve to fight back equally and occupy land of greater value in the Kailash range on Aug 29/30 and threaten their supply line. Moreover their calculation of time frame was misplaced. Poorly trained conscripts without mountain training and acclimatization were sent. That proved to be their Waterloo. Now they wish to disengage quickly.

India says...... not that quick. Withdraw completely then follow it up with disengage. The Chinese commander unable to decide for himself is consulting bosses in Peking and then try to meet the Indian counterpart very quickly.

Hence that Indian resolve to stay and force Chinese back may have put a damper on Chinese plans to invade Taiwan. A weak president like Joe Biden may allow Chinese grab Taiwan just as a weak Obama allowed China to grab all of South China Sea.

That coronavirus and its aftermath has vanished from China largely. Also the west is buying Chinese goods unabated, hence Chinese confidence has increased. All they want is Joe Biden and communist Harris to win and they will unleash their rest of territorial plans soon......... Watch out India...... keep your powder dry.

So what we've done is to show the middle finger to Xi and his cohorts. Next is to open an embassy in Taiwan and later declare Tibet as illegally occupied by the CPC. That would be when we can say that Modi really has a 56 incher!

Dont think the hesitancy would have been from Indian side. If we have invited big guns like US and Japan, then including Australia will only make a minor addition to the irritation quotient.

Maybe the hesitancy was from the Australian side because their economy is more dependent on China. Australia is one of the few countries that runs a huge trade surplus with China, see article below

First of all two different things Australia has participated earlier as well once though.. It's another pressure tactic from us & a good one. Opening an embassy in Taiwan is not happening.. Not many countries recognize them either. We can boost trade relations though. Tibet card is one we can play but as long as HH Dalai lama is alive..
Indo-China war will happen sooner rather than later... It's all about delaying the inevitable.
