Yes, China has to be made to leave Tibet at some point. The catalyst for that will be well developed border infrastructure and that is what India is doing right now. After our border infra is on par, the Chinese will no longer have security in being able to deploy quickly. They will either be forced to deploy far away from the mainland (which has bigger disadvantages for them) or to quit.
The current standoff is a trial run for all this. Just like the Pakistani nuclear bluff was called with surgical and Balakot strikes, the Chinese bluff is also being called. Prior to 1971, lots of myths were created by Pakistanis - that one Pakistani soldier was equal to ten Indian soldiers, that they could take over Kashmir etc. After their ass was whipped in 1971, their aims shrunk along with their country. Generals started running hair cutting saloons and sending pathetic rats to do the fighting. Revoking of 370 was the signal that we no longer cared about Pakistan or its abilities anymore. This is what forced their big daddy into coming to Ladakh.
Eventually the Chinese myths will be similarly busted and they are shown their true place. And that may happen sooner than we think
