Why? M88 maximum wet power output is 75KN. F404 itself does 90KN. And IAF requirement is F414 IN with atleast 98KN. Where does M88 fit into this picture? Rafale works cos it's twin engine fighter. In Indian conditions engine degradation is high where the thrust is generally 10% lower. A reason why IAF didn't want F404.
