I think we are more than confident of giving the Hans a bloody nose. We are prolonging the talks only to make Xi more uncomfortable and increasingly restless. I think we will announce a ban on Huawei just a day prior to the CCP annual congress in October just to spite in the face of the Han Emperor, indirectly belittling him in front of the CCP elders and forcing him to make a wrong move thereby giving us an excuse to start our own deadly and effective military manoeuvres against the PLA princelings.
Talks are face saving for us and for them.
This is the new status quo, they will now try again next year or the year after that.
Till then GoI can continue to bury it's head in the sand and think about positive thoughts like Coconut water with Xi.

There won't be a ban on Huawee because of pressure from Failtel and Lodafone-Idea, who have already prostituted themselves to China by buying Huawei and ZTE equipment on Chinese loans.
There was also a reply in Parliament a day or two ago regarding this, that Huawei isn't banned.

There exists no will in the corridors of power to take this yellow bull by the horns, aside from defensive/consolidatory actions which are obligatory.

But this begs the larger question: What is the strategic objective of the Chinese ? I can think of the following

1. Tie down Indian forces at LAC to avoid making a push through POK and upsetting CPEC. Or atleast be able to respond quickly if that happens. If this is the case, then it is a very defensive move and begs the question whether they are really the superpower they claim to be.

2. Teach a lesson to India. But what lesson is being taught to India by forcing their own soldiers to brave the winter in Ladakh

3. Learn the basics of mountain warfare with this deployment. But this may take a few winters.

Atleast in the Kargil war, the objective was clear: Threaten Srinagar-Leh highway and force India to make concessions in Siachen.
It's always hard to know with China. Even experts are divided on this question, so I don't know what to say. But the PoJK/CPEC issue seems like a pretty logical aspect of it.

In that case, once the result of this standoff is settled (and neither side can do much campaigning due to weather) - we should make a move for PoJK. Chinese won't really be able to jump in to help the Pakis.

Think a ban on Huawei is already in place in that the government has told all telcos to avoid Huawei. The government can also make more demands - e.g. Huawei should share the entire source code for verification and inspection and make the routers in India with government oversight - which Huawei wont agree to
Why Huawei ?

Reliance is already working on its 5g infra testing. Let them workout if it's good or even nearby talk to telcos and firms to build up production facilities here to provide it for all telcos to operate.

It is time we bring back some sort of protection to Indian industry which is trying to match international players.

Also we can make a barter deal for getting tech transfer by japanese firm to launch 5g mobile and equipments manufacturing here in India in a jv giving them a free run without Chinese competition.

Only way for this is to remove them by force from our territory, which will not happen.
Till then Chai Biscoot will continue.

There is another choice.
Acceptance.

To save face you can eventually coat it in this evergreen jhumla uttered by Chichora Chacha :-

" WhY BoTheR wiTh A LaND WhErE NoT a BLaDe oF GrAsS GrOwS"

At this rate by 2049, even Leh will become part of "Chinese territory since ancient times"
Acceptance, is now unacceptable.

PLA 'cannon fodder' mocked for crying on bus as they apparently depart for border with India

Video shows Chinese soldiers crying as they allegedly head to Sino-Indian border

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — As tensions continue to simmer on the Sino-Indian border, a video surfaced on Sunday (Sept. 20) showing People's Liberation Army (PLA) soldiers crying as they are allegedly deployed to the border.

The footage was originally posted on the WeChat page of Fuyang City Weekly, but it was soon deleted. The original post shows 10 fresh recruits from Fuyang City's Yingzhou District in China's Anhui Province.

All of the new troops were reportedly college students, and five of them had "proactively volunteered to serve in Tibet," which borders the Ladakh region where the bloody Galwan Valley skirmish took place in June of this year. The video was reportedly filmed at the Fuyang Railway Station as they prepared to head to a military camp in Hebei Province.

Any joint statement where status quo ante is not restored is a defeat for India. It must be categorically laid out, otherwise we will know that the govt has capitulated. If they attempt to reverse the gains we have made in Chushul, we will know that govt does not have stomach for winter deployment at LAC.

China's bluff was called out yday and they are coming to the party today. They can see the pickle they are in.
never trust bat eaters. This is most likely to get us out of Chushul which will be a big blunder.

Yes, but we are yet to levy anti-dumping. If levied, all those 15,000-rupee Xiaomi smartphones offering features rivaling 30,000-rupee Samsung phones will be priced at 30,000 (with the Indian exchequer collecting the difference as anti-dumping penalty). Once there is price-parity between Xiaomi and Samsung, the consumer will be motivated to pick Samsung.
And what will Gov gain from it ? Unless Samsung invest that money back into indian economy ?

We need to first ask these companies to actually make phone here instead of just assembling finished parts. If we start now within next 2-3 years we will have a good workforce .

Lol nobody cares about corona, and paid protestors can be arranged, like they always are.
You're right but, nachne do unko, kya ukhad lenge.

Why Huawei ?

Reliance is already working on its 5g infra testing. Let them workout if it's good or even nearby talk to telcos and firms to build up production facilities here to provide it for all telcos to operate.

Also we can make a barter deal for getting tech transfer by japanese firm to launch 5g mobile and equipments manufacturing here in India in a jv giving them a free run without Chinese competition.
Japanese are memes and are into the most esoteric sections of manufacturing.
The only Japanese company with 5G capabilities is NEC and it is a minor player.

Most high end and High tech technology you use today is now controlled by Korean or Taiwanese companies( aside from Uncle Sam ofc ).

Huawei own a lot of patents related to the 5G standard, so if you're doing "traditional 5G" and not JIOs OpenRAN software based 5G, you have to pay Huawei royalties for patents also.

Nokia and Ericcson have already bended over and pledged to make 5G equipment here in India, but this is an assembly job mainly, no ToT or JV involved i think.

And what will Gov gain from it ? Unless Samsung invest that money back into indian economy ?

We need to first ask these companies to actually make phone here instead of just assembling finished parts. If we start now within next 2-3 years we will have a good workforce .
Samsung is apparently setting up a factory to manufacture smartphone displays, and i think they already have a PCB manufacturing section in that huge complex in Noida.
Fabs for flash memory can also be set up provided GoI gives strong monetary support in the form of a JV

Whatever Samsung does will be much more and better than Xiaomeme and BBK electronics, both only assemble phones here because of the danda of duties and taxes and the amount they sell here.

This government is making a huge mistake if it doesn't ban all Chinese companies like Huawei from Indian network and all Chinese devices; they all come with spyware and snooping hardware that is almost impossible to find. If the Indian government allows this, all Indian data will become hostage to the Chinese government and military.

Hans don't deal with caste politics, religion politics, whatever regional linguistic differences are steamrolled by the CCP. They're as homogenous as the Borg. Imagine if India had 1.1 billion Hindus of the same caste, who all have no problem speaking one language. That's China.

The Americans are still dumb enough to think they can make deals with the Borg and keep their superpower status forever. You don't make deals with the Borg.

Lol the Chinese import lobby is all powerful here, from April onwards i've seen so many shill articles in Media that basically have all apocalyptic consequences predicted if India bans Chinese imports.
It's literally like some shite you would find in GT.

Business bhadwas and those traders who import and sell are in love with cheap Chinese goods and the nice margins they make through them.

They also have patriotic diaspora who lobby and shill for them abroad.
We have Pramila Jayapal type NRIs and PIOs

We can become one and we have become one in past , the election of Mr Modi as prime minister with 300 seats is itself an example of our unity
