If you have driven from Chamoli to Badrinath via Govindghat, you would know the place is teeming with ITBP and Army camps/units including the Ladakh Scouts. Most of the people who work there are also retired hill people.

This thing of coming in and going use to happen at section level or at max platoon level from both side. I don't think at company level such a thing had taken place before.

Was it a bridge used by vehicles or just a footbridge similar to this one?
