Anyone who thinks fake news are good to make government act is a high school dropout. Government can not act on something which hasn’t happened. Even if the government has to act the things take their normal time and course. If that particular news is a concern then the Pimp is talking about something which happed many weeks ago.

Fake news or agenda news or news corrupted with editorials are done by staking credibility. The risks are discussed in advance and good favours generally money is taken to cover the loses. The agenda at this level is mostly coordinated with enemy states or enemies inside or both.

In a way, if we look at it, these two are probably a few of the most seniormost opposition leaders it's just as simple as taking opposition leaders in confidence and maybe Pawar and Antony being senior members and despite the reservations against them, they are experienced so maybe they can at least ensure that debate doesn't go in the direction that harms or concerns our national security.

Politics will happen but maybe it was a way of GOI to ensure that likes of pappu don't cross the line which may result in unwarranted attention which could be detrimental to the ongoing talks or Indian media being Indian media, it can spiral out of control. Just course correction in shorts.

Not uncommon at all. Makes sense doing it before a parliamentary session though not sure of its value with a guy like Rahul Gandhi around.
