This aspect is one of the first things identified as a potential threat to national security by Ajit Doval when he became NSA, modi govt has been working on this since 2015.

Sometimes we forget in the rhetoric, how fundamentally flawed our national security had become during UPA tenure.

One of the first things doval and modi had done in the first month was that they realised that 80% of basic medicines like paracetamol (total 21 medicines I think) were being procured from China. That would mean the whole country was dependant on Chinese medicines, imagine there was a hostility and China would switch off the supply. At least for couple of months there would be basic health services of entire country would have been disrupted.

National security is not only about terrorists, nukes etc. There are many other elements of the which do not come in the limelight just because it is not prime time material in MSM.

The onus is on the bigger power (militarily & economically) to accommodate India & roll back it's expansionist policy not just in the Himalaya but in the oceans as well.

No real issue staying in the QUAD, but should ensure we are able to balance our relations between US and Russia (maybe even china cause we are still dependent on them for a lot of stuff).

We should also remember the chances US coming to India's aid in a conflict with china is bleak, and the US is getting occupied in ME again.

Sick of hearing this statement on weekly basis from MEA & Army top brass, do we have a working defence ministry, the most underperforming dept currently. RM Rajnath Singh appears in non defence related affairs only, miss Manohar Parrikar at this hour.
Without planning on a alternate strategy MEA just hoping on peaceful disengagement by PLA unilaterally, MEAs tunnel vision overlooks the opportunity, without occupying strategic location foolish to expect PLA to disengage from occupied forward positions. It's time for Defence ministry shud take up this issue by presenting multiple option on the table to the chenes.
