Those are Mistral Missiles.
Those are Mistral Missiles.
Mistral missiles. No HELINA as of now.
LCH is the best looking defence product from India.LCH looks like a plastic toy not a war machine.
Mistral a2a missile..............
In such a case why did the Army not ask for integration of LAHAT ATGM's helicopter launched variant??HAL’s LCH continues to remain ” Toothless” but things might change
In 2017, Then Indian army chief General Bipin Rawat had said Indigenous Attack/combat helicopters HAL Rudra and HAL Light Combat Helicopter have major shortcomings, that is in their current configuration both do not have suitable anti-tank guided missile (ATGM), which is the main weapon of any Attack/Combat helicopters around the world. Fast forward to 2020 and nothing much has changed since then as HAL Rudra MkIV and LCH Helicopters continue to be armed only with French Nexter 20mm turret gun and Belgian 70 mm rockets and waits for ATGM to be used as effective anti-armor, anti-bunker and anti-fortification role for the Strike Corps. DRDO developed Helina and SANT anti-tank guided missile system was supposed to provide lethal aerial firepower against the armored thrust of the rivals but DRDO has not been able to clear this trial phase of this missiles and enter production. DRDO officials have claimed both the missiles are ready for production and have cleared all trials but there seem to be some bottleneck issues with the production of the missile which is yet to resolve. Army already has 60 HAL Rudra MkIV and the chorus has been growing to induct HAL developed LCH also and it seems, Army will clear that proposal to induct 10 LCH and 5 for Air force soon, but both Helicopters will continue to come without any decent ATGM integrated into them. Army has been proposing the integration of American AGM-114 Hellfire air-to-surface missile (ASM) and buys interim stock for both HAL Rudra and LCH fleet but it has some opposition from DRDO which claims its Army which is delaying ordering locally developed Helina and SANT anti-tank guided missile system over imported ATGM. Army also has been offered helo-launched Spike ER and the MBDA PARS L3 anti-tank guided missile from other foreign vendors but turf war is yet to be resolved between Army and DRDO due to which one of the main weapon systems for Gunship Helicopters are still missing but sources close to idrw.org has confirmed that talks are underway to keep both Army and DRDO happy and a deal to arm this gunships with ATGM will be cleared by end of this year.
Sir tel me if this helicopter is basically meant to conduct air battles.. ??Mistral atam of hal lch

DESCRIPTION
MISTRAL ATAM is based on the MISTRAL missile with its fire-and-forget engagement mode, ease of operation and unrivalled kill probability.
The system is based on two launchers, each bearing two missiles and can be connected to the helicopter’s combat system, when mounted on combat helicopters, or through simplified control equipment if installed on multi-purpose helicopters.
In both cases, it is characterised by simplicity of operation, a very low crew workload and a high level of performance.
The system can be operated within the whole flight envelope of the launch helicopter, at speeds of up to 200 knots and at altitudes exceeding 15,000 ft.
CHARACTERISTICS
Weight: 18.7 kg
Length: 1.86 m
Diameter: 90 mm
Maximum intercept range: 6.5 km
Minimum intercept range: 500 m
FEATURES
MISTRAL ATAM ensures a large off-boresight capability, together with the ability to aim the missile seeker very precisely at a given target.
The missile has a shaped trajectory in order to intercept targets top-down or at long range, the crew can also select the proximity fuze mode.
MISTRAL ATAM is currently the only helicopter mounted air-to-air missile in full operational service.
Because DRDO blocked it since Helina was being developed. HAL can offer whatever they want but DRDO will always have the last say.In such a case why did the Army not ask for integration of LAHAT ATGM's helicopter launched variant??
The air launched version has a range of 8-13 km and would have served as a stopgap measure till the integration of Helina ATGM.

Is it an obsession ?? Because HAL has offered Spike and MBDA PARS missile integration as an interim measure until Helina became matured the same as mistral 2 or many other projects but no Answer from IAF
Only IAF can give such a bizarre excuse where a primary project has put on hold because the secondary or tertiary project is running in delay.
Sir with due respect .. helicopters bare never meant for air battleSir tel me if this helicopter is basically meant to conduct air battles.. ??
Will these missile destroy ground targets ?? Say a sitting helicopter ??
what is the use of a plateform which does not have its main armament..
Also from my twitter post.........IDRW write a full article for my post.
Just in. IA wants the rudra and lch to be inducted with Hellfires.
DRDO says SAINT clearers for production with all trials over.
So far RAFAEL and MBDA has offered their respective ATGMS.

Last time I heard, first contract for 15 of LCH is almost ready to be signed, rest on the way after that. HAL has stated that it has already worked/completed 8 of these. Considering dhruvastra/helina have been successfully tested isn't it the best time to start procuring them?
