good points when topic is related to foreign policy.

but when it came to domestic politics, they couldn't rise above their ideological leanings, of course PB mehta won't, dhume's wife won't.

case in point, when question on CAA came, all of them refrained themselves from clarifying what CAA is i.e CAA gives fast track citizenship to minorities of three islamic countries and does not deprive any Indian citizen of their citizenship. meaning they would rather allow issues to simmer rather than let the truth come out.

another of those cases of attempts to manufacture a new stick to beat India with, in continuation of indications that is popping up these days, that western think tanks have an issue with Modi emphasising Bharat as civilisational state. i suppose we are going to see more of this in coming years.

thankfully another of those rare occasions where non-mainstream ex-foreign service officers defends GoI's positioning (not the civilisational part). but retired foreign service officers need to ponder on the fact that, if western think tanks are getting jittery about this civilisational aspect, there must be some India advantage they see in it which they don't like.
