yeah not enough seats. Should be enough to hold a section as you said.

Everybody seem to come to conclusions very quickly these days. Why would L&T design an ICV with seats for only 6 dismounts for the indian army when our army's requirement itself is more.

Also why would almost all of you guys think that the first images of that composite hull prototype with L&T marking along with DRDO logo is the L&T FICV protoype when all of you have seen L&T's individual concept design, which is radically different from that one, earlier itself. And why would they abandon their individual design to collaborate with DRDO on it.

Because they screwdrivered on a BMP-base & when it's not cramped it holds only 6 people.

i count 8+ 2 in front ...the wall looking things just under the displays are seats on either sides of the vehicle..just in a different arrangement

Has anyone attending DefExpo actually asked L&T reps what exactly they were showing? IMO it's might be just a "cardboard prototype" concept, with no real weapons, automotive parts, armour and sensors. Building a working prototype would probably cost in the order of 100's of cr of R&D money, especially for a company with limited existing infrastructure. That's not something that private players can self fund without assured orders.

I agree this is too early in the development process ..the fact that this was shoved in a corner and not main display of the company tells me that this is just a very early design

Can we please end this discussion here? There are three in the front for the crew and then 8 more for the dismounts. There's nothing to dispute here.

Nope until you got pictures that show conclusively that there are 3 seats for the crew and 8 more for the dismounts. Hey this is a forum that likes to quibble over little details. Part of the fun of being a DFI member. Enjoy the show buddy.

He has shown it conclusively. The seat marked "Gunner" by @Bleh is the same seat that the TAIL of the arrow in @Emperor Kalki 's image is on.

And the arrowhead in @Emperor Kalki 's image points to a seat to the left of the gunner's seat that is not visible in image @Bleh posted. Not visible because the "Squad Lead's seat" (as labelled by Bleh) came infront of it. But in Emperor Kalki 's image we can see the two seats one infront of the other.

Another hint: the seat marked "Gunner's seat" has two pillars with perforations on it on EITHER SIDE of the seat (visible in Bleh's image). The seat hidden in Bleh's image is on the left of the left pillar and visible in Emperor Kali's image.

Another giveaway is that the seat Bleh has erroneously labelled as "Commander" has no displays or console infront of it. Which is not likely to be the case in an ICV.

So he is right. The arrangement is 3 seats for the crew in the front row, followed by two seats for the stick/dismounts and a couple of jerry cans in the second row and then the rear part with six more seats for the stick/dismounts. In total 3 crew + 8 dismounts. Its a good, spacious design if they can implement it that way.

True that even the AarTv RFI from drdo showed a 3+8 seating space. Even the FICV rfi suggested a 3+8 arrangement, so its good to see that cos are coming with requires solutions.
Do you know if the abhay composite hull shown in Defexpo was the same from AarTv RFI or the vehicle from rfi will be different. And if both are same, why was the RFI floated if L&T is already making the hull, so are they different things?? Its already confusing that l&t is making their own FICV and now possibly a prospective drdo FICV candidate.
