New Maldives PM report card -

1. Asks India to withdraw 77 troops
2. First state visit to Turkey
3. Cancels 2019 hydrographic survey pact
4. Did not attend 6th meetup of Colombo security conclave
Time to overthrow him and establish a permanent Indian force on Maldives.

It is becoming clear now with the quick dash of India’s Foreign Minister to Russia that U.S. about to put a hold on MQ-9 deal and possibly F414 jet engine deal. One of the statement of the Lavrov- Jaishankar discussion is that b Russia will help the manufacture of military hardware in India. That may include some critical items technology which US is unwilling to supply and Russia is ready to help. Time will tell but some negotiations will happen to strike a deal with Russia to ignore US objections. Now, it us clear that Pannu affair was manufactured by US.

the visit was the effect of US chicanery. I think we already sensed they were blocking things, cozying up to Pak, that's why the visit.

Not really. the India-Russia summit is a regular affair every year. When PM Modi does not visit, the EAM always visits to conclude it. So regardless of what the US did, this was anyway going to happen. The only things that are added to the list are the military part which would have otherwise been restricted to the civil nuclear, oil, gas, and mineral resources trade.

I have a feeling that since BRICS 2024 is being hosted in Russia, the summit will unveil the common framework for Project R5 this time.

The common trading currency is happening...!!! It won't replace the local currencies but will become the convertible unit for all the R5 currencies.

It could be anything.
Rosatom gives the entirety of a supply chain for a nuke plant. From equipment to fuel to training to even fuel disposal. Could be just that or related to naval reactors.
Naval reactors? BARC already made them for Arihant and Arighat. I don't think that is the problem at this point as much as getting ROSATOM is for the civil nuclear energy. PM Modi has a target of hitting 30% before 2040s and we badly need more civil nuclear reactors. ROSATOM is a one-stop shop and we will need them to supplement more power plants while we put in our reactors across the country.

Lol bhai, We buying cheap Russian oil and getting a profit from the arms sale.
Not something we should be doing. It's not from a moral standpoint but from a geostrategic standpoint. If our arty rounds are being used to shell Russian positions, this won't be a good thing.

The MOD needs to track who the fck it is that is supplying our shells to Ukraine and putting us in this position. How many countries have we sold the shells to? LT unarmed utility trucks are fine for Ukraine which they sourced through third parties in the EU, but this is live weaponry.

They are purposely dragging us into this fight by sourcing shells from countries that bought from us. MEA needs to start reaching out to our client countries and tell them not to give them out.

OFB can't manufacture stuff properly for IA during peacetime and they're doing it for Ukraine?

Nah, this smells like a hitjob lol

Arty rounds are made by OFB, Adani and a couple of other companies now if I remember correctly. So the defence contracts could have been private. We apparently supply 155mm shells to a bunch of countries.

We should be concerned if this is true since these smaller countries end up getting bribed to send their batches to Ukraine at the behest of the UK and the USA. Not only for this war but also for the future where we need to think about End User Controls (EUC) to ensure that our exports don't get used everywhere.

If these shells injure/kill Russian troops this would look like we are complicit against a fellow strategic partner and that doesn't look good on us.

Time for Kadi Ninda Singh to draft an EUC policy and put it ASAP in place.

The reactors on our subs are direct derivatives of Russian reactors built with Russian assistance. BARC has expertise with heavy water reactors not light water ones which are used on subs and ships.
