Very much in our country. The sad part is, China has made 5 ports in all this time that we haven't made 1. The INSTC has gone live already and Bandar Abbas remains the connecting port rather than Chabahar as we had planned.

If we have to be a responsible power, we have to put ourselves in the other country's shoes and think. Imagine if USSR had failed to help us with Bhilai steel plant, or the ISRO rocket motors, or the nuke submarine tech... would we have seen them as a reliable partner back in those days?

Would the UK trust the US all these years if they didn't back then and get things done?

Here Iran is giving us all possible clearances to get 1 project done and we are unable to deliver. That's only negatively affecting our image as a future economic power. We want to be an economic pole; but we don't behave like one.

ON TOPIC: The point is, Indians want the security of Israel, the speed of China, the effectiveness of Singapore, the modernization of Japan and the innovation of Norway all in one, but won't want a King who can get things done with unlimited powers.

Iran was under UN sanctions. under sanctions, the number of companies who are willing to take the risk to work in Iran are less. creating workarounds to shield companies takes time.

and then there is the case of Modi Govt trying to revive relations with U.S during the same period, Iran was a big deal to U.S before trump. Trump even killed one of their generals, Iran retaliated with a ballistic missile strike on a U.S air base in Iraq.
