The value of a product/innovation is determined by it's accessibility and it's overall impact over a target market, and not by the cutting edge processes behind it's conception or manufacturing.Other than Star Link… Modi Govt will do well to come to some agreement for Musk to set up a Gigafactory in India.
Its no secret Tesla has the best manufacturing process, technology for mass producing batteries …
And one of the pioneers for RnD in same field.
Tata and Mahindra is dependent on Chinese for car batteries once Tesla starts inside India for battery manufacturing the technology and processes will spread in Indian car companies… BYD is nothing but an open sourced Tesla copy and owe its base on Tesla manufacturing set up in China…
Elon is a deep state lego brick but GOI needs to find a way to work with deep state safeguarding Hindus
Tesla vehicles will never be accessible and available for the general public here in India due to the high cost of ownership. In the US they heavily rely on the government subsidies (environment and what not) to bring down the cost.
There exists no clear benefit. The only viable option is to use India as a manufacturing hub for exports.
