When you are growing, you do not take fights with the big powerful ones. You live in their shadow and get yourself prepared. Take their help whenever and wherever needed, but keep getting stronger day by day, slowly but surely, until one day you are strong enough to take them head-on.
India already enjoys sufficient tussle with west today in its growth era.
Banning western social media in India isn't viable due to limitations of India's own tech sector and Indian dependence of those services. People will find it hard shifting from FB, YT and Google to new, inappropriately working platforms. Banning them for any violations doesn't change much with US, at least in 2023.
Challenging them in Diego Garcia does.
Makes no sense to fight or antagonize USA, we have bigger fish to fry(Aka China who are our true enemy). Lets not even talk about IT industry(our biggest export) which is completely dependent on USA. USA is like that bully who wants everyone to follow their rules, but they won't hurt you if you are in their camp. Now that we have a new sheriff in town who is our biggest enemy as well, we shouldn't be stupid enough to antagonize the other one as well. Just play along for now!!
India is neither in US camp nor US leaves any chance to hurt India and keep it cut down to its size. Indo US relationship is strictly transactional.
True. Frying Manchurian should be the top priority for us firstly because of their territorial ambitions, 2ndly If India truly wants to be superpower of asia, there cannot be two superpowers right next to each other. Also looking at USA, I feel India is like USA except 30-35 yrs behind. The same social issues, the same cultural problems sooner or later is going to come to India with just different names. India can learn a thing or two from USA fuck ups
France, UK, Germany and even USA & USSR, all superpowers were immediate neighbors in any given era in modern world.
There will be no superpower of Asia alone but world since most major Asian countries are great powers like Europe was in its era.
For eg, BBC Docu on Modi. Instead of dealing with them with brain, idiots used their muscle. BBC said Modi is authoritarian and that there is no press freedom in India. Modi send ED to BBC and banned the Docu thereby conforming their accusations. How stupid can you be!? I bet babus played the significant role in this reaction.
They don't give a flying fu*k about brown coolies in India. They just want modi to look crazy so that people in the middle will move towards the left and Voilà regime change.
Leaving them free to run a propaganda movie on Indian territory would have been more humiliating that even with evading taxes and foreign funding regulations.
Neither BBC has an appeal in India nor any people moved to left wing politics with ED raids on it.
BBC is disgusted by larger part of Indians and most Indians care about wealth and material gains than "press freedom" meme.
It is just who always were on left wing criticised raids on it and rest of India laughed on it as usual.
Its not just one thing. They want guaranteed obedience from India. That not only gives them strategic counter weight against China but also a lot of money. US wishes to replace Russians in the Indian arms market. This gives them interoperability, control over the Indian military and Money. A nationalist Modi government focusing on domestic defense manufacturing is not good for any of this.
That's a short term goal.
Long term goal is to balance out China & India with each other's power and impose trade deals similar to plaza accords on both of them so that they become weaker like Japan with their declining populations.
Problem is this govt is too stupid and our babus are too corrupt to deal with the muricunts.
FCRA, crushing of western NGOs, new eastern political and financial groupings disagree with that.
Government can't do anything immediately but it's doing what it can.
BBC laid out a trap. It wasn’t even available in the region, at least when I tried to see what was it all about. The only way to access it was via vpn. But all the noise around it and banning it made it somewhat popular. Government should’ve ignored it. it was anyway
.
There is no data or figure about gaining popularity. All we saw that only people who always used to suck on it, they suck on it.
