I don't understand their thought process. Central Asia, for most of human history has been a rather resource deficient region with it's people living like literal animals. They conquered civilizations for resources and ended up adopting the culture of the people they conquered. It's because, for the first time, their own lands were progressing and were seeing the fruits of modernity even if it came at the cost of brutal suppression of religion.

I wonder if it's because they always feel the need for one-upping Indians by claiming to be the ones owning the sex slaves rather than being the sex slaves themselves which we always tease them for being rapebabies. Even in that front, they fail massively because there are academic records of Greco-Bactrians and Greeks themselves being a highly sought after people when it came to purchasing concubines within India.

This thought process is due to Subcontinent Muslim's hangover regarding Turkic Islamic rule of the subcontinent

The primary rulers during Islamic rule of the subcontinent were Turkic ethnicity.

Turks knew there were foreigners to these lands and would never have the support of the subcontinent's people. The two main subcontinent groups in the largest numbers were Hindus and then local Muslims. These two groups would always have the local inhabitant's support to overthrow the Turks. Hence the biggest threats to their continued rule.

To counter this threat an ethnic social hierarchy was created by them. The goal was that the groups at the bottom would first have to compete with groups in between for power before reaching a position challenging the Turks.

1. At the top were the Turks themselves as the ruling class.
2. Arab Mullahs and religious scholars
3. Persian nobles
4. Afghan commanders
5. African Muslim Siddi slaves as bodyguards.
6. Subcontinent Muslims
7. And finally, Kafir Hindus at the lowest being the biggest threat.

For centuries Muslims of the subcontinent attempted to climb this social hierarchy by aping those above them and dreaming of reaching the status of Turks in the society.

Persian courtiers would often mock the subcontinent's Muslim attempts to mimic their behavior and mannerisms.
