But now shop keeper would check 2000 rs notes thoroughly. And look at the note and you suspiciously. Because who the hell will not use digital transaction for that large denomination.

Also now no one would buy 15k washing machine using cash. So it's not easy to circulate large amount of fake notes

So, the paper is a factor, but not the only factor.. Intelligence and monitoring is much more important..

But, there are fake 500 rupee notes as well. .My father is a retired Bank Manager, and a shop keeper gave him a fake 500 Rs.. note 6 months ago.. My father just tore it apart, and the shop keeper was furious.. as he thought it was genuine and it was a good fake as well..
Already 2000 Rs notes are being taken out of circulation slowly.. GOI could have done the same for the earlier 1000 Rs notes.. there was no need for shock therapy..

I too have done that during my student days.. Somehow managed to pass off a fake 100 Re note, after a shop owner pointed it was fake..
