SRBM are rather costly and they raise the spectrum of conflict significantly. Rockets are much more suited for mass saturation. We need pinaka everywhere just like chinese rocket forces.

For long range china too use srbm but call them rocket , max range for ro ket is 200 250 km , more than that accuracy will be hampered more and more

We can build our own light tank . But if numbers are less ( 300-400) only then import could make sense. Anyway we end up importing 25-30% content for whatever we build if we import korean light tank through l&t manufacturing it will still be sourced 50% or higher in india. And will come much faster like 100 k9 spj.

BM's are for high value targets like command centers, runways and so on. that are well protected and deep....rocket artillery is generally tank concentrations and infantry and arty concentrations
Chinese bm are like rocket ,not too sophisticated in short range , similar to a guided rocket at 300 km
