I’ve heard that we disposed off our Chemical Weapons under UN which was the world’s largest chemical weapons stockpile, and all of it was mustard gas, the deadliest chemical weapon. Is it true?
Very sad if true
India, South Korea and Albania were asked to eliminate their stockpile, we did. But does the US and China have their sttockpiles or were disposed off equally?
Just knowing congress govt's priorities and attitude towards defending nation, I would say we never had that level of investment into chemical weapons. We were importing even arty shells and basic stuff till recently.
Sulphur mustard was a very very deadly weapon which India should never have developed or possessed at first place. For nationalistic members here regretting dumping it, just google "mustard gas injuries" and see images.

Seriously, we aren't a fascist state who enjoys human suffering. Simply kill enemy soldiers by shooting or vaporise them with nukes. Sulphur mustard would gradually burn their eyes and body and while keeping them alive. Suffering is too horrible to imagine and it'd be good if India actually dumped it.

Just no, it's a terrible thing, more terrible than any ancient method of human tortures.

Agree 100%. There is a reason we don't use Cobalt-60 salted nukes. Its because we are not terrorists.

Repeating again in simpler words,

Using sulphur mustard on enemy forces like using halal cutting (slow painful half throat slitting) of enemy soldiers than killing them at one off! Those who even survive have horribly deformed bodies like acid attack victims.

If you don't wannabe remembered as cold blooded cruel states like Third Riech or Japanese empire, just never use biochemical weapons.
Does Pakistan have them BCS they would not hesitate to use them
Might have a smaller stockpile due to low pharmaceutical production and expiry dates of chemicals. There has been no news although in public domain about pak possessing any kind of weapons of mass destruction except fission nukes, leave alone mustard has.

Not that I know of. Why would they need it? They aren't that stupid. They use terrorism as a weapon. They themselves are not terrorists per se. I mean its not that difficult to build a salted nuke. But its not something any sane country/military would do. The risks outweigh the benefits.

Yes, India destroyed around 1045 tones of mustard gas by 2005 after she signed CWC in last 90s.
But this amount was not the world's largest stockpile. In the meantime, Russia destroyed 36,750 tones CW and USA disposed 25,000 tone.

2016 OPCW verified that China had dismantled her CW program completely after 400 inspections;
2019 OPCW confirmed that US has destroyed 91.47 percent of the chemical weapons stockpile it had declared.

Meh..by that logic we shouldn't be posses nuclear arsenal too... there will be 10 times more injured or effected person from the nuclear strike then straight outright killed one.
Having chemical weapon isn't bad as long as we are keeping no first use policy
