$hit happens, don't go about extrapolating to infer that the whole system is crap.
in real world conditions, they won't send one, they send more than one to minimise this risk.
What a Hi IQ response to a < 82 IQ question !! Been on the forum for 2 yrs yet doesn't know basic protocol of ADS in such situations.

*theory* . Fuse failures are more common cause live fire trials are done less frequently as compared to simulated targets ..
This is not limited to our case .
Fuse / warhead detonation failures have happened in many shooting wars .. Falklands war many exocet missiles did not explode .. Most of the Argentinian bombs did not explode cause of a safety feature .
As far back as ww2 US torpedoes where multiple hits were recorded without detonation of the warhead.
Hopefully laser proximity fuses in astra have solved this issue but can't tell for sure.

Two R73 fuse failures on the day 🤔?
This should make us think how can r-73 be effective against drones
Coz samar systems were essentially made for anti drone purpose although they are using missiles of retired aircrafts which have enough shelf life
But ig these things are beyond the mental capacity of other dimwit(IQ<50) members of the forum

R-73 is a 80s design with little upgrades.. It is not designed to target small drones since inception.. it cannot and should not be thought of as a drone hard kill system. Also it is way more expensive than the things they will shoot down.. Airforce showcases Samar as an in-house innovation item but when it comes to drones it does not fit, we need cheaper and effective solution

Yeah
But I remember few journalists quoting military said these are specifically made for anti drone purpose likes of tb-2 and shahed
That's why air force has to rethink wrt it
And obviously these are air to air missiles so they are costly but their aircrafts have been retired and they have some shelf life too
But during rehearsal samar system did hit the target
So we have to wait for some more info on why both(tejas and samar) the r73 failed yesterday

To the serious enthusiasts on the forum-

Is there any sub-assembly level quality testing protocol that's available? Like the seeker assembly is working as intended? Asking, more specifically for imported missiles like R73s and Meteors
