Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) has handed over the first lot of Infantry Protected Mobility Vehicles (IPMVs) to the Chief of the Army Staff, General MM Naravane, PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, ADC at a ceremony in Pune, today. With this milestone, TASL has become the first private sector company in India to produce and deliver wheeled armoured combat-ready vehicles for the Indian Armed Forces. In addition to supply, TASL will also provide 24×7 support to maintain the vehicles at the deployment locations. The IPMV is a co-development project with Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO).

When 40 Mk1 were ordered, the 8 trainers were to be of FOC standard. But it has been changed midway where IAF wanted all the 18 trainers to be of Mk1A standard.

dont know how authentic this news is. but i definitely think we need two more squad of s400 in Andaman nicobar nd lakshadeep. coz chinese will send their aircraft carrier through malacca street nd also near srilanka hambantota port. coz these places hv brahmos batteries nd radars, they will send aircraft to destroy brahmos batteries. so we need very good air defence near Andaman nicobar. if not lakshadeep, we can deploy one squad of s400 near mumbai. coz whenever pakistan try to target indian cities. delhi nd mumbai will be their primary target.

Not DSI, but Canted air intake.

If you have followed the Mk1 development, you might remember that it was the the air intake in Tejas which resulted in a below par thrust.

I remember. Guess then they added spring doors in the inlet (same as Mig 27,Harrier or Jaguar) to mitigate need for more air flow requirement. I guess that intake would not have worked in case of MK2 where even more bigger engine is going to be used.

I think he is not aware of recent developments inside mod or he is just stating plans which happened during his tenure
Saurav jha clearly said that erads will be given the duty of remaining 7 required squadrons

thats where u r wrong my frnd...ab remaining 2 bhi india me hi banega. fir 5 squad or banayenge. or fir USA jese 50 countries bhi s400 lene me "ruchi" dikha rahe. but hum export 1-2 ko hi krenge. s400 ke aage LRSAM+SRSAM hoga nd pichho our BMD. thats how humara agwada nd pichwada safe hoga, bole to multi layer protection.
