Air defence tactical control radar ADTCR
Okkkk............... You mean a missile launched from plane can't reach an altitude to cover long distance? Please don't meddle with the definition of ballistic missile. We can launch missiles from a plane, but ballistic missiles are those that go in a parabolic path. If you want the missile to reach long distances, then you have to send the missile over the stratosphere where the air resistance is minimal. The peak height is in 100+km with Agni missile having over 600km peak height. This height is needed as the missile has to travel long distance without losing energy.
You are speaking of dropping a missile and making it fire? Then it will be a missile (missile is a precision guided rocket). If you want a ballistic missile, it has to travel high and far in a parabolic path with minimal guidance.
Ballistic missiles are simple missiles that simply fly up and then down with minimal course correction. All missiles with initial stage rocket which burns out quickly and then the missile simply moves with the initial energy is not a ballistic missile.
Being a TBM, its 300 km range is good enough.
What's the exact use of the radar ?
Ballistic path is a parabolic path. An ordinary dumb bomb dropped from a plane also travels in parabolic path with the top of the parabola being the point of dropping from plane. But, a missile, if it fires a motor and moves forward, then the trajectory will be flat and it will be a missile but not a ballistic trajectory. You can have a guided missile, but not a ballistic missile for this reason. Ballistic path requires the missile to travel down solely under gravity without motor.Okkkk............... You mean a missile launched from plane can't reach an altitude to cover long distance?
Moreover why a missile fired mid air can't travel in a ballistic path? Any explanation for that?
Have you heard of ASM-135? Do you know from where it is launched? Do you know how and where it travels?Ballistic path is a parabolic path. Cruise missile is used from planes because the high speed missiles with motor stage burning only for a small duration of the flight will cause excessive drag and the missile will not be able to move forward much. Drag increases with velocity and even if a motor burns and gives a velocity of 6Mach (2km/s) initially, the reduction in velocity will be rapid due to drag and won't be able to travel much farther. So, to travel long distance, a sustained burn rate is needed to maintain right speed while canceling the drag which is a subsonic cruise missile.
AAA , SHORADs etc etc ..............What's the exact use of the radar ?
To which weapon system will it be mated.
FFS, just order 500,000 of these and be done with it.R2 7.62x51mm Assault Rifle from the OFB. Exhibited better accuracy and greater stopping power in head to head trials against the Galil version. With updated muzzle brake

The ballistic missile weighs in tons and the plane can't launch it like ASM135. The ASM135 had almost no warhead or very small warhead weighing a few kgs. Otherwise, it will be impossible to launch a heavy missile from a plane. The fuel economy will not be worth it.Have you heard of ASM-135? Do you know from where it is launched? Do you know how and where it travels?
Where from you got this info that a missile would only travel in a horizontal path?
Moreover look at that BM launch from plane. It was dropped vertically with help of chute and then it got fired up.
How did you get to know that you are under scanner?Sorry for my non-activity in this thread from last few weeks. I came to know that I have come under scanner for posting sensitive stuffs on weapons system even before public gets to know about it. I don't want to upset "them" anymore. Hope you all are okay with it. However, I will try to continue my discussions with non-sensitive stuffs here and on the other threads of this forum.
Highly respected Senior Army Officers... They are very disappointed to me.How did you get to know that you are under scanner?
Who is "them"?
RAW agents or IB :/. Kinda hillarious Sambit Patra keeps saying does the opposition want to know what missiles ans how many will be there on Rafale when all that info is general.knowledge that's discussed on out forums .I guess he and others will get a shock of life if they happen to read defence forumsSorry for my non-activity in this thread from last few weeks. Ty. I read more .it seems it's Army specific version for Air Defence corps. The Air Force already has a huge variety of radars.AAA , SHORADs etc etc ..............
Question: What the hell is WICV, is it Kestrel or something new is coming?
