Why can't a single truck be used to maintain best mobility and quick setting up of the system?
Well how do u fit in a heavy duty gen set , all the bite equipments, the radar , the cooling/air conditioning systems and the console station into a single truck , all the while making sure the truck fullfills all the required parameters of mobility and weight restrictions etc.

If the radar was AESA based then it would have been possible to get in the bite equipments , but still it would require a power supply vehicle same with any similar foreign system.
Foreign systems don't show it in their pics brochures etc but an additional power supply vehicle is always there.

Plus the drdo WLR configuration allows for redundancy and also the power cum bite vehicle can communicate with the WLR via cables or wireless links so it is possible that WLR can be operated remotely after being set up if required from the safety of the out of danger power cum bite vehicle.

How is a single LARGE truck more mobile than 2 small trucks?
2 small truck which have to work together and hence need time to set up cables, need to stick around together will make mobility worse than one single autonomous unit

How can WLR operate remotely if it needs power source from outside? Is the WLR vehicle itself having one set of processor and generator while the second vehicle is just redundant?

That doesn't make ANY SENSE!!!
Sure, it might take a couple of minutes to setup the cables, but that can be done simultaneous with other setup ops - like levelling, orientation etc.

But one large heavy truck being more mobile than 2 small ones defies all common sense.

WLR connected to power vehicle via cables at 200-300m or so

Remote operations from WLR at 300m or so via portable display console

If the console operator does so inside the power vehicle or away from it , it's his business . And I used the term possibly as I cannot guarantee it is so.

And I believe the power and bite vehicle also has the necessary equipment for automatic dispensation of WLR data to the relevant component of the indian army Tac C3I system, so the console can be set inside it if required, what's the harm. What does portable / remote mean ? u can move it anywhere you want withen the constraints, of course.

And if you have more queries please ask drdo send them a mail or something.

Reposting from my previous posts.

ISRO multi object tracking radar MOTR

the military version of this radar is being installed in india's first missile range instrumentation ship MRIS

please note the encircled sentence in red - it gives away the one of the application of the military version of this radar ie to compute and track the instantaneous impact points of multiple MIRVs.

this is the land based trailer mounted version of M-MOTR

the sea based version is waiting installation on a smaller drdo MRIS under construction

the land based trailer mounted version of M-MOTR will be used for tracking PGMs, smart munitions and terminal characteristics/flight performance of warheads under development during land based test fires.

IMO this mobile system has the potential to be used as part of BMD for tracking cruise missiles , ballistic missiles if stationed at high elevation like on top of mountains/hills .

MOTR / M-MOTR is very much necessary for the next phase of long range ballistic missiles program wrt MIRV, decoys etc testing and further development and also testing and development of advanced terminally guided PGMs / cruise missiles etc

Is that a proper launch? It appears like a test to me. The test failed and there is no ALBM as a result
This project had been shelved due to its technical challenges. Land based ICBM are much simpler to operate then Air Launched one. But at the peak of Cold War, it gave a tactical advantage to US over USSR.
