Rustom uses Turboprop engine. It is an old technology, more fuel efficient in subsonic speed and much simpler than Manik. There is no need to use Manik in Tapas.
Rotatory Wankel engine not turbo.

Not directly related to drdo but arms exports.

To push exports, govt calls home all 44 defence attaches

India's defence attaches are expected to talk to various players during the Defence Expo
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Attaches expected to interact with public and private sector firms during Defence Expo, with the larger goal of promoting Indian defence exports
  • There is a growing move to involve private sector players in manufacturing defence hardware
NEW DELHI: In an unprecedented move, India has called in all its 44 defence attaches from missions abroad for a series of specialised briefings starting Monday that is aimed at increasing efforts to tap potential for defence exports and strengthen the interface between the government and industry.
The initiative, spearheaded by defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman, intends to bring the attaches up to speed on several areas that include exploring new defence markets and promoting "Make in India". The attaches, traditionally seen as easy postings for military officers in Indian embassies overseas, will listen to talks by government and industry representatives.

They will be present at the defence expo, where they are expected to interact with public and private sector defence firms, with the larger goal of promoting Indian defence exports. A key aspect of the Modi government's Make in India programme is defence, where India is looking for more manufacturing. Most of it is in the hands of the public sector units but there is a growing move to involve private sector players. The logical progression would include being able to secure new markets for defence exports, because, traditionally, India has not been regarded as a defence exporter.

In recent months, India has hosted delegations from the UAE who have come in to see what kind of defence products they could source from India.
Using defence attaches to become integrated with not only what India needs in terms of defence buys but also what India wants to sell to other markets is intended to maximise the presence of attaches.

In recent years, Indian diplomats overseas have taken on greater roles as economic and commercial ambassadors. This is expected to accelerate the government's plan.

BM can be launched but will not hit the target accurately. It will miss if fired from a plane. I am speaking of actual BM, not a glide bomb or a semi-glide missile
Give me one good reason for this hypothesis.

Good step taken. Next step should be the formation of an Export promotion body comprising members from both public and private sector. We need to have a joint stand at every defence related expo.
All of this will fall flat if our armed forces don't show interest in indegenoin product, won't say this is a bad idea now.

All I will say-Dont count your eggs before they hatch.

It's Rudra M-III Hypersonic Air Launched Ballistic Missile
:hmm: If it's a hypersonic ballistic missile, then it would be using a scramjet or some sort of pulse detonation wave engine, which would mean they gotta have some air inlets to keep the flow of air at high supersonic speeds, which isn't visible in the blueprint, now what am I missing? :confused1:

please note the encircled sentence in red - it gives away the one of the application of the military version of this radar ie to compute and track the instantaneous impact points of multiple MIRVs.
Great insight and I seriously hate the 30 characters limit, such a pain!

=============================================================================
**EDITED**

As pointed out by @porky_kicker & @Steven Rogers these aren't air slits and indeed it's a modified Inskander, except it's air launched now... damn Russians really fired there brains for long this time. :lehappy:

At first I thought how it could be, but kinzhal has actually small slits of air intake. Zooming in you can see red air slits on missile air slits in the picture below.

and while in air:

No
Conventional rocket motor powered missiles are easily capable of reaching hypersonic speed.

Eg.
Kinzhal, CM-400AKG are pure air launched ballistic missiles with rocket motors

Aha! now I got my hypothesis correct, it's a modified Iskander with just pure solid fuel rocket motor. You are right. so what about those red thingy infront of it's nose cone?

Ballastic missile don't need Scramjet, they don't need to sustain speed.
