India locally develops FSAPDS ammunition for T-72, T-90 battle tanks

-In another landmark, Smart AntiAirfield Weapon (SAAW) was tested with flying colour by IAF with high accuracy at targets more than 70 km away.

-The cluster also tested Ku-band indigenous Astra seekers and transferred the technology of multimode hand grenade and bund blasting device

-Armaments cluster carried out technical trials of Advanced Towed Artillery Gun Systems (ATAGS), G1 and G2, developed with private industry Kalyani Group and Tata Power. Hon’ble Raksha Mantri Smt Nirmala Sitharaman also witnessed the trials. Orders for G3 and G4 has been placed and the guns will be offered for the User Assisted Technical Trials (UATT) and User Trials (UT) around June and September 2018, respectively.

-Configuration and functionality of Guided Pinaka was proven for 65 km and 75 km range. PSQR-based user trials of family of new munition Vaibhav and Vishal were also conducted successfully.

-Air Independent Propulsion (AIP) for P-75 submarine has cleared definition phase and its land-based prototype has achieved 14-day endurance trials by the user.

-In ECS cluster, Varuna Electronic Support Measure (ECM) has been inducted in the Navy. SATs and UET Phase-2 of Nayan COMINT system have been completed and firstoff Production Model (FOPM) of Ground-based Mobile ELINT System Himraj is under ATP

• #115 is Rocket Assisted Artillery Projectile? Nice! I was just wondering, in the ATAGS thread, how far a RAP round fired from ATAGS was going to go. Surely it will go much beyond 70 km. Guess we will find out soon enough.
• #58 is Tactical LASER. #59 is Tactical MASER? Funny that our first ASAT weapons is going to be a DEW instead of a missile.
• #66 CIWS to replace Ak-630 is a surprise. So what missile can they use? QRSAM? I guess they need something cheaper than QRSAM? And I don't think any gatling cannon is designed in India yet.
• #38 MALE RPA is definitely Rustom-II
• #2 Active Protection System for Tanks!! To be used on Arjun MkII or existing T-90/72 family? Or both?
• #54 Li-ion batteries for Submarines: I remember reading that ISRO made some awesome new Li-ion battery last year. Can we use that?

Looking at this document should be an indicator to people who cannot understand why people say that DRDO is overstretched and why our private MIC sucks.

Glider Assisted Torpedo program under NSTL and IITK

It seeks to develop a glider configuration which when mounted on a torpedo can assist it to glide.

The initial specified design objective is to achieve a minimum range of 25 Km in a maximum duration of 250 sec when the whole assembly is launched from an altitude of 6 Km with a circular error probability of 500m.

The assembly after launch has to be controlled with the help of an on-board autopilot using integrated GPS-INS.
