Except Brahmos and Aakash missiles, there isn't any significant reserves with India to fight a war like in Ukraine simply because politi doesn't seem to warrant it.
They are still in Hindi-Chini bhai bhai mode...I promise you China has 10:1 strategic missile reserves that we have since they are preparing for Taiwan/Japan and US confrontation.

We'll get hit and then start scrambling like in wave 2 COVID.
Suffer losses and then have face-saving of some sort then scream on next rally how we managed it despite the circumstances...I see no way that not happening if a war breaks out.
Don't worry, we have enough keyboard warrior in this forum itself who are great in giving strategic advice. Our govt don't listen to them, so maybe under bhai-bhai coalition, we could transfer them to China. I am damn sure, their advice would bring the Chinese army down.

was noticing what fanboys are saying in reference SSS defence on twitter, most fanboys don't seem to have figured out that SSS defence's core USP is not the product itself, but rather their commitment towards domestic iterative product improvement capability.

perhaps the reason fanboys have not come to this realisation is because for decades our discourse revolved around "screwdiriver giri", and in screwdriver giri iterative product development does not come up in discussions, because the product development cycle happens outside of the country.

so it's a case of public imagination itself being limited due to historical choices made by the state.

Especially in small arms, this capability for iterative improvements seems to be the norm around the world, even for products by "World leading" companies. But this requires trust by the operator (army) in the company. OFB has simply evaporated any budding trust due to its apathetic performance.

Close to 400 missiles with unit price of 7.5crore, might be even lesser since this is almost a 4-year contract(BDL can make 100 missiles/year).

Initially 50 were ordered in 2017 for testing.
248(200 IAF + 48 Navy) in 2020.
Current order is close to 400 missiles.
So, 698 missiles in total
if you subtract 18% GST, net price will be around 2436 crore.

in 2436 crore, you have to factor in launchers + software upgrade work (at the minimum) + inflation as well.

so it won't be a simple division of order value by unit price.
