But navic is being used by our defence equipments right ?
NavIC is being used in our PGM like DRDO Glide Bomb, DRDO Smart Anti-Airfield Weapon, etc.
Only our private company hasn't integrated it right ?
The problem with NavIC is that off-the shelf ICs and modules that interface with NavIC system are not readily available compared to those like GPS.
Another problem with NavIC is lack of global coverage and global recognition. This hinders export potential of product using NavIC and private companies are not ready to put in double engineering effort to impement NavIC along with GPS.

At least it gives India strategic autonomy at any given time. These problems you mentioned are well known and accepted. The gain is worth the price.

My dear friends GAGAN has been on the shelf, ready to use for almost 7 years. God forbid if we ever face navigional emergency like 1999kargil or Russia 2022 .our entire fleet will be on the ground despite of having our gps and operating network active and working. We critisize army for no reason aam ramesh is far more lathargical in accepting indigenous product just because he will have spend some money any way GAGAN is less costly than FORIGEN MAAL
Whats the difference b/w NAVIC and GAGAN ?
Also unless govt makes a rule like chinks that all phones sold in Bharath must use NAVIC, there will never be any adopters

The GPS-aided GEO augmented navigation (GAGAN) is an implementation of a regional satellite-based augmentation system (SBAS). It is a system to improve the accuracy of a GPS receiver by providing reference signals.
In SBAS support wide-area or regional augmentation is achieved through the use of additional satellite-broadcast messages. Using measurements from the ground stations, correction messages are created and sent to one or more satellites for broadcast to end users as differential signal.
NavIC is a satellite navigation system that provides accurate real-time positioning and timing services. Their is no dependency ground stations as such. Each NavIC satellite has an atomic clock for timing reference.
GAGAN has an accuracy of 3 m over Indian airspace. Deployment of GAGAN is limited by ground stations. It is mainly used by civilian airline industry.
NavIC absolute position accuracy of better than 10 metres throughout the Indian landmass and better than 20 metres in the Indian Ocean as well as a region extending approximately 1,500 km around India. We are working on expanding the coverage of NavIC from regional to global however GAGAN can't offer global coverage under any circumstance due to its architectural limitation.
During conflict GAGAN is more vulnerable compare to NavIC.
