So a drone can take off vertically from an relatively small circular landing/takeoff patch, reach a certain altitude and turn into an conventional plane like aircraft with the advantage of higher cruising speed and range and after completing the mission return to the launching area and again turn into an helicopter like aircraft and land vertically down.
Such a drone will not need a long airstrip to launch and can be launched and recovered almost everywhere.
Probably can also be used on ships after customisation.
Such types of drones are probably even available in the world market today.
