Ground Penetrating Radar
L&T has designed and developed a state-of-the-art ground penetrating radar. This system is extremely compact and can be engineered to fit either ahead of vehicles/tanks or can be towed.
The system can detect metal and non-metal objects up to a depth of 4M in all types of soil conditions and snow. The system utilises high-end algorithms enabling the user to see the image of the object and also provide 3D positioning of the object.

Dual Technology Mine Detector
DTMD (Dual Technology Mine Detector) is a hand-held sensor system combining a conventional metal detector of high sensitivity and a Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) for detection of buried landmines.
The equipment has been specially developed by Larsen & Toubro for military applications as well as for humanitarian de-mining operations. The conventional metal detector provides audio alarms on presence of metallic objects.
The Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) has been integrated with the metal detector for detection of non-metallic mines which are increasingly being deployed currently to avoid detection.
The equipment is designed to provide audio and video indications on presence of both metallic and non-metallic mines in different types of soil with very low probability of false alarms.

Command Information and Decision Support System (CIDSS)

CIDSS is the nucleus and hub centre of Tactical C3I System and is primarily meant for Collecting, Filtering, Processing, Formatting and Displaying Operational, Intelligence and logistics information for the Commanders at all levels in a field force to enable them to assess the battlefield scenario and to take appropriate decisions.

CIDSS is a Tactical Wide Area Data Network formed by interconnecting LAN nodes spread over a Corps Zone comprising of One Corps, Three Divisions, Nine Brigades and Twenty Seven Battalion.

CIDSS has both piece time and war time infrastructure to meet Tactical Battle Area requirement

CIDSS has two containers to meet the tactical LAN requirement, viz, System Administrator Shelter and Integrated Command Post Shelter.

1.Tactical LAN nodes designed for high mobility in Tactical Battle Area.
2.Vehicular mounted container based LAN Nodes interconnected using WAN connections.
3.64kbps, 1mbps, 2 mbps and 2 mbps data pipes provided for Battalion, Brigade, Division and Corps level respectively.
4.Redundancy provided for Servers Processor and Power supply.
5.Built on Dual core Fault tolerant Application and Database Servers.
6.3 Tier Software Architecture.
7.LAN Intrusion Protection using Firewall Server.
8.Highly secured LAN using 3 levels security.
9.Built upon COTS hardware.
10.Provision of Wireless LAN client to operate with Stars-V CNR Radio.
11.Applications possible : Web Services, Application Services, DNS services and GIS services.

CIDSS LAN Node shelters are designed for
Operating Temp 0 to 550C and Relative Humidity 0 to 95%.
Split Air conditioners provided in each LAN node shelter.
Mil 461C protected Aluminum skinned shelters, thermally and mechanically rugged.
2x 3KVA UPS for 15mts backup.

@porky_kicker Amazing information on Indian EW systems. Was looking for all of this and could only find bits and pieces till you posted all this wonderful information. Thanks so much. Just one request, we need to move all these posts over to a relevant thread: Electronic warfare capabilities of IA

BTW, what is this "mobile communication terminal"? Looks like one of these media OB vans the mob torched here today. Is this in service on a tata lsv platform? Never seen that in IA service.

it is a Quick Deployment Mobile communication Terminal (QDMCT), built on the tata Light Specialist Vehicle (LSV) platform.

QDMCT provides wide area IP enabled network for deployed forces to communicate with each other in the battle-field.It provides reliable and secured IP connectivity for data, voice & video, between various nodes.
