I really hope we create a SPAAG (gun+missile) turret that can be fitted to different chassis rather than importing the BIHO or any other platform. We already have everything developed apart from the MANPAD and the rest just needs to be packaged properly.

May be for detecting small boats , armed speed boats and fishing vessels in close / Lower ranges , maybe as you said to detect Low flying objects.

There are already enough professional Dalals in journalism whose only job is to spread negativity daily and ensure that the citizens are never not anxious.

we don’t need to join the negativity bandwagon. keep it factual on SM.

as far as MWF goes, cockpit ergonomics are going to designed in the country, MFD are going to be manufactured within the country, cockpit is going to be manufactured within the country. So where’s the problem?

“Lack of trust by MoD on desi products” is a narrative. On one hand the same MoD is ensuring a percentage of their capex budget dedicated to indigenous products this year, how does that compute with “lack of trust”.

A better approach would be to look at it with weapon system tech as a vertical, in some verticals the country is self sufficient and yet to reach self sufficiency in many.

-there are verticals “MoD” buys nothing but indigenous (strategic missiles, radars, missiles, dumb bombs etc.)
-there are verticals “Mod” buys nothing but foreign because domestic systems are not ready yet, but armed forces can’t wait. (Twin engine fighters, MALE drones)
-there are verticals “MoD” has already earmarked for future dates that they won’t be imported beyond those dates ( negative import list)
-there are verticals “MoD” is funding themselves, so that domestic industry can develop themselves. ( pinaka, QRSAM , drone, anti drone )

Blanket statements can be misleading.
