This needs to be put into production simultaneously with Dhanush, we shall need more than 5000 Artillery guns in a full scale conflict with China and Pak . We need to build up numbers asap.

The older one didn't, i dunno much about the exact improvements Bharat forge has put into the gun but this is what their website says.

Bharat 52 KSSL's state-of-the-art Bharat-52 is a long-range 155mm/52 caliber gun. It is the first indigenous solution of its kind designed and developed in India. Bharat-52 is a futuristic towed gun, providing a highly maneuverable field artillery solution. It has been designed for accuracy, stability and reliability during moving and firing maneuvers, and is based on the requirements of the Indian Army. Bharat-52 is capable of a range exceeding 40km and utilizes self-propelling capability and automatic laying mode. The Anti-backlash drive for elevation and traverse make it a truly unique system and a robust solution for superior battlefield operation. Extremely easy to deploy, it takes a team of six crew members to deploy the system within one minute during day time and 1.5 minutes during night time. Uptil now the import lobby was too strong our desi firms simpy didn't have enough dollars or natashas to cope, now things look to change.

I saw somewhere it is 500+ Indian companies and 400+ foreign companies (about 1000 in total)

500+ Indian companies, but the end products are few because they are collaborative efforts between these companies? Am I right in reading the situation as such? There's Kerstel, Tejas, Arjun, Dhruv, Dhanush and a few drones (even those have collaborations with foreign vendors). Is there any product that is 100% indigenous?
