So how based on a rendering we are saying that its a 105mm cockerill turret?

I think so, I have not seen any TOT. Frankly I think this tank needs to be simple fast and able to use widespread ammo type in the most likely place where it gets deployed. In mountains its easy to hide and line of sight is not necessarily clear and in plains like depsang heavy ones will be the primary....type 15 looks crude but enough. Skirts are also too deep, anyone knows why? Pain to maintain from the way they are looking

Doesn't that turret sounds any bell for you. The turret on drdo l&t light tank is cockerill 105mm turret and even the gun is cockerill one so it's just common sense that we will be license producing whatever ammo it fires it import. I don't know if 350 tanks warrant a local license production of 105mm ammo. Nowhere mentioned in rfi that it need to fire drdo atgm.

The assumption is based on the little model that was displayed in the Light Tank pavilion of DRDO.

First of all, the model didn't completely match the Light Tank Render on the poster. And there were a lot of artistic liberties taken, like the wierd side skirts & zig zag grid pattern on the model.

I don't think it should be taken as the real deal. Better wait for next year.

Tbh naval systems are mostly ignored in most of our defense exhibitions despite having fuck ton of shipyard most have little to none r&d capability and rely on navy for orders and designs
