What would you say is the best option now for gaming? Buy a G series Ryzen or be on the lookout for any used or new GPU?

used GPU.
New is all scalper tier.
G series ryzen don't have the 6c/12t goodness that the non-gpu Ryzens have.

There is also option of gamer laptop.

I have no idea about used market.
Just saying because I have a GTX 1660 Super GPU, purchased in ~2019 November for 19k.
Today same GPU selling for 42k new.
And this is all scalper pricing.

There is RPTech that is official Nvidia GPU distributor for those 3xxx series cards, but stock comes very rarely, and you have to get in waitlist to buy, but the pricing is normal and not insane scalper tier.

A discreet gpu is always better than integrated ones. A used gpu could give you hiccups just make sure it aint too old. Under 20 months is sweet spot.

What is your monitor resolution and what are the quality setting you play on?
For 1080p Ryzen 5700G would be ideal for medium setting.
