Why should we give up Russia when US will support us in any action on China anyway, regardless of if we shift to their side or not?

1) US gives India the best BOT whereas Russia is not even in India's top 20 trading partner
2) US does not sell weapons to China
3) India and US are both liberal democracies
4) India and US' strategic interests align in Asia
5) US is top job destination for Indians (are Indians lining up to study and work in Russia?)

What use is India's S-400 if China knows the ways to avoid it since Russia also sold it the same S-400... wasted money and opportunity.

Russia's short term goals are aligned with China, but unless it's willing to be it's slave nation like Pakistan, it's longevity requires a weak China.

I assure you, if China considers it feasible, it will start vying for land on Russian borders too.

As has been said before, they're only aligned because of USA's ability to trample over them in a no holds barred fight.
