India shouldn't build Carrier, since India suffers from this lack of experience of building it. Remember the current half-built one delayed for some many times.

My point, do not make the same mistake. If the India do make it, then get ready for a delay forever.

it is the Chinese Navy I am talking about. They have no experience at all. India has been operating carriers for the last 60 years. India knows a lot about carrier operation.

India is well on its way to complete the second one and the third is already planned.
It’s better to complete something properly than rushing something into service for the sake of having a carrier.
Chinese carriers have had numerous incidents/accidents. This is bound to happen due to inexperience and poor quality. Quality comes from experience, being able to identify wear and tear, stress points, corrosion etc. this is something that will take years to develop.

Indeed, building stobar carriers is the first know-how process, it's never the finish line for PLA navy.
PLA navy clearly define the three steps: Stobar, electromagnetic catapult + conventional power, electromagnetic catapult + nuclear power; the 003 is the 2nd step.

Plus, the prototype of Chinese naval AEW was out 2 days ago, it gives a solid platform to start getting experience on operating such a class of aircraft.

After this one, most sub system seems ready:

That aewacs platform is so identical to the E2 Hawkeye. The problem with the pln, pla or plaf is they tend to outright copy designs and steal codes. From sukhois to American fighters. They should move away from this mindset of stealing and copying and focus on creating their own designs. This would help them in the long run.it would also add to the pride of a made in China product. But to move away from this mindset would take a long time. These principles and practices of integrity and not copying stuff should come from the start, and is very difficult to change now.

This is why the world views countries like North Korea, China, Iran through the same lens, which is propaganda machines and xerox Kings.

Rofl. China has no clue of operating a carrier let alone building one. India has been operating carriers for 60 plus years. Which is why there are so many incidents with every warship in the pln arsenal. Seriously. You need to stop copying USA or Russia and come up with your own designs. It’s good for you in the long run.

What Is The Progress Of Chinese Navy Third Aircraft Carrier ?
source : https://defenceview.in/what-is-the-progress-of-chinese-navy-third-aircraft-carrier/

Ten years ago, China didn’t have any aircraft carriers in service. Now it’s building its 3rd at the Jiangnan shipyard in Shanghai. This is part of a massive modernization and expansion of naval capabilities.

China’s navy, the PLAN (People’s Liberation Army Navy), has always been large. But for many years it was far behind Russia, India and the West in terms of both quality and core capabilities. That is changing due to a massive construction program. Large destroyers, frigates and amphibious ships have been multiplying at an incredible rate. And the new Chinese carriers are getting bigger and more potent with each ship. The first two were smaller than U.S. carriers at around 67,500 tons, and feature a raised ‘ski-jump’ bow to launch their fighter jets. This new ship is expected to be much larger and will replace the ski-jump with an electromagnetic catapult.

The construction progress of the 003 aircraft carrier has shown a new picture. The second domestic aircraft carrier is obviously more interesting than the first. The “conventional power + electromagnetic catapult” is not only world first, but also makes the Chinese navy truly have the “Ocean Aircraft Carrier”. “Full-load takeoff + fixed-wing early warning aircraft” indicates that PLA navy is fully capable of achieving global deployment and strategic deterrence.

The construction progress of the bow module was previously missing

Construction progress of the stern body
Compared with the previous pictures (missing the bow), the biggest change of 003 is that the upper layer of the tail section is significantly wider and the thickness is also increased.

The widened part is understandable, it belongs to the part that floats outside the aircraft carrier, so the thickened part should be the main cabin and hangar of the ship hull. We can assume the majesty of the 003 aircraft carrier from the floating hull of the Shandong ship and the thickness of this part. However, the 60,000-ton aircraft carrier is still incomparable with the nearly 90,000-ton aircraft carrier. According to experts, in the future, 003 will be several thousand tons larger than its shown in public.

The subsequent construction of the 003 aircraft carrier will be the assembly of the main body of the cabin and the floating hull. These sections have also been built in advance using modular construction technology and placed on the right side of the dock.

The 003 segment module has been built and placed in order
According to this current progress, we can assume the complete hull structure of the 003 aircraft carrier in November will be complete. It would be an unexpected surprise if the flight deck could be laid before the end of the year.

Genuine Q - pardon if this is answered already but what type of propulsion these 2 CV use and whats their speed... i have always seen them with tug boats only.. NO pun intended here...

Building a deck and showing it to world is not big deal IMO... Deal is when it can move and project power ...

Steam turbines. Works well, sail next to Taiwan all the time :)

Trapping mechanism always worked that way. It was the same during first landing tests. :)

LOL....Don't worry .. taiwan have good assets to take the steam out should the tribal folks choose to cross the line....

What;s the speed like and how much coal do they carry to generate steam .... hoping they don't have along electricity line to generate steam and propel this enigma... no doubt it cannot cross SCS ...

And fix that steam catapult ... it's not efficient.. how many pilots are lost so far!!!!!!!!
