Propaganda Man does not understand that an aircraft progam is very expensive thus even if they buy 1 or 4 ARJ-21 it does not mean any sucess.

even Embraer faces difficulties by selling 30 0r 40 aircraft in 3 months that is even a low production rate
In the event Vietjet hasn't bought any ARJ-21. Nor have they purchased the COMAC -919. They've leased the ARJ-21 in unknown numbers though this piece of news too isn't yet confirmed .

I wonder why're the wumaos liking my previous post. It appears they didn't read the previously linked article as usual. 😭

Embraer Doubles Q1 2024 Backlog To $21.1 Billion
BYMICHAEL DORAN
PUBLISHED 16 HOURS AGO

Embraer set a hot pace in the first quarter, with deliveries up by 67% and a backlog now stretching to $21.1 billion

In the first quarter, Embraer delivered 25 aircraft, an increase of 67% compared to the 15 aircraft delivered in 1Q23. The executive aircraft delivered were one Phenom 100, ten Phenom 300s, three Praetor 500s and four Praetor 600s, while four E195-E2s and three E175s were delivered to the commercial airline market.

Obviously the rate of deliveries of COMAC can not pay for the investment specially since COMAc is owned by CCP and the airlines buying are owned by CCP basically it is a propaganda scam.

leasing ARJ-21 is even worst since it means the full price is not even paid and ARJ-21 is vastly inferior to A-220.

Basically ARJ-21 is crap

Bringing together state-of-the-art aerodynamics, advanced materials and latest-generation technologies and engines, the A220 has a range of up to 3,600 (6,700 km), with an impressive environmental scorecard. Powering the A220-100 and the A220-300 are two Pratt & Whitney GTF™ engines specifically tailored for the A220.

.

The ARJ21 regional aircraft can accommodate 78-97 passengers, with a flight range of 2,225-3,700 kilometers.Mar 13, 2024

.

even inferior to E-190

The Advanced Range (AR) version of the E190 can carry a full load of passengers up to 2,450nm (4,535km). The Advanced Range (AR) version of the E195 can carry a full load of passengers up to 2,300nm (4,260km)

Intelligent sensor tech firm to boost overseas presence

Guangzhou Asensing Technology Co Ltd. [Photo/Guangzhou Asensing Technology website]
Guangzhou Asensing Technology Co Ltd, a company that specializes in high-precision positioning technology for autonomous vehicles, is ramping up efforts to expand its presence in overseas markets, including Europe, the United States and Japan, and bolster the intelligent driving industry, a senior company executive said.
Germany, which is home to a large number of world-renowned carmakers, is an important market in Asensing's overseas business roadmap, said Pia Hu, executive president and chief products officer, adding that the company also plans to hike its footprint in other European nations such as France and Italy.
Asensing is committed to developing cutting-edge sensor products for the automotive industry to improve efficiency and the safety of drivers and passengers, Hu said.
The Guangzhou-headquartered company, which was founded in 2014, has inked partnerships with more than 30 vehicle makers, such as Geely Auto, Changan Auto, SAIC Motor and Chinese EV brands including Nio, Li Auto and Xpeng, to provide self-developed high-precision positioning solutions. It will also provide such technology for multinational automakers such as Volkswagen and Toyota.
"For European clients like Volkswagen, we have a plan to build local production lines in accordance with their requirements. Meanwhile, we may consider establishing production facilities in Mexico if we reach a cooperation agreement with carmakers in the United States," Hu said.
Asensing makes its own chips for high-precision positioning units, she said. "China is at the global forefront of intelligent driving in terms of industrial chain, technological level, industrial applications and user acceptance. Currently, the advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) has become a standard configuration for new vehicles made in China," she added.
According to her, the number of vehicle models and brands with ADAS functionalities in the Chinese market has surpassed that from European countries and the US, while Chinese consumers regard the autonomous driving function as a key factor when they buy cars.
China has introduced a series of policies to promote the development and commercialization of self-driving technology in recent years. According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the country supports the commercial application of Level 3 and above autonomous driving systems. Level 3, or L3, means conditional automation, which allows a vehicle to drive by itself without human override under certain conditions.
Hu said LiDAR, which uses laser light to measure distances and map surroundings, high-precision positioning systems and other sensors will be essential parts of intelligent automobiles.
She said that China's auto parts suppliers, represented by smart sensor producers, are gradually taking the lead in the global auto industry, and Chinese suppliers will spearhead the transformation of the automotive industrial chain.
"For international mainstream automobile manufacturers, China is becoming an important market for the procurement of intelligent automotive parts," she said. As Chinese auto brands have accelerated steps to expand in overseas markets, the export of auto parts has also increased.
At present, expenses for research and development take up about 60 percent share of the company's total revenue.
Hu said Asensing will continue to focus on R&D in the domestic market and deliver key parts like chips to overseas production bases for assembly, production, testing and verification. The company accounts for more than 60 percent market share in high-precision positioning technology in China's automotive industry.
Liu Chunsheng, an associate professor at the Central University of Finance and Economics' School of International Trade and Economics, said it is a positive trend that Chinese intelligent auto parts companies are speeding up their globalization plan, and that this will be conducive to expanding their market share.
"By establishing production bases and procurement networks across the globe, these companies can make better use of local resources to reduce manufacturing costs and optimize the supply chain structure," Liu said.
Zhang Xiang, visiting professor at the engineering department of Huanghe Science and Technology University, said the manufacturing costs of driverless vehicle components have fallen, as advances have been made in self-driving technologies and related industrial chains have matured.

Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo proudly held up the progress of American industry on semiconductor manufacturing Sunday, declaring the U.S. has “outinnovated” China as the two nations fight to advance their domestic technology manufacturing.

Semiconductor manufacturing has been a major priority of President Biden’s domestic policy, with Raimondo at the head. Biden has repeatedly held up the CHIPS Act, which invested billions in domestic semiconductor manufacturing, as both an economic and national security victory during his reelection campaign.

“If you think about national security today in 2024, it’s not just tanks and missiles; it’s technology. It’s semiconductors. It’s AI. It’s drones. And the Commerce Department is at the red-hot center of technology,” Raimondo said in a CBS “60 Minutes” interview with Lesley Stahl on Sunday.

She warned that relying on China for semiconductor manufacturing puts critical American industries at risk, and noted that the administration has made strides toward taking that manufacturing stateside.

“We want to trade with China on the vast majority of goods and services. But on those technologies that affect our national security, no,” she said. “They also go into nuclear weapons, surveillance systems. And we know they want these chips and our sophisticated technology to advance their military.”

Raimondo bragged that the best semiconductors being manufactured in China now, by industry giant Huawei, are now substantially behind the best American counterparts.

“What it tells me is the export controls are working, because that chip is not nearly as good,” she said of the Chinese example. “It’s years behind what we have in the United States.”

“We have the most sophisticated semiconductors in the world. China doesn’t,” she continued. We’ve outinnovated China.”

Much of the semiconductor production is in Taiwan, which is constantly under threat from Chinese invasion. Raimondo said the situation makes the U.S. “vulnerable.”

The Biden administration has announced tens of billions of dollars in investment toward new semiconductor manufacturing plants in Arizona, Texas, New York and elsewhere. Raimondo predicted that the investments could bring as many as a half million jobs by 2030.

“We allowed manufacturing in this country to wither on the vine in search of cheaper labor in Asia, cheaper capital in Asia, and here we are,” she said. “We just pursued profit over national security.”

Customs unions are groups of countries that apply one common system of procedures, rules and tariffs for all or almost all their imports, exports and transiting goods. Usually, countries participating in customs unions share common trade and competition policies
.

It is obvious since the next step of a free trade is a customs union, a a free trade agreement can be abused by third parties in this case BYD aka CCP/China.

We do not have a customs Union with the USA but the news show we are heading for that.

7 EVs and Hybrid Cars That No Longer Qualify for a Tax Credit in 2024
According to Consumer Reports, some automakers that continue to use Chinese-made batteries in their models lost tax credit eligibility in 2024. Moving forward, if a manufacturer chooses different suppliers or assembly locations, “some vehicles may qualify while others may not, even if they’re the same make and model.” Here are seven cars that lost their federal EV tax credit qualification this year.

  • Tesla Model 3 Rear Wheel Drive
  • Tesla Model 3 Long Range
EV tax credit casualties include the Tesla Model 3 Rear Wheel Drive and Long Range trims. The Model 3 Performance still qualifies, as do Tesla’s Model X Long Range, Model Y All-Wheel Drive, Model Y Performance and Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive.

  • Cadillac Lyriq
  • Chevrolet Blazer EV
Two General Motors (GM) vehicles are temporarily no longer eligible for tax credits in 2024, but GM vowed to provide the equivalent credit amount on purchase. “After reviewing Treasury’s long-awaited proposed guidance, we believe the Cadillac Lyriq and Chevrolet Blazer EV will temporarily lose eligibility for the clean vehicle credit on January 1, 2024, because of separators and electrolytes,” GM said in a statement.

As Reuters reported in February, the Lyriq is again eligible for the $7,500 EV tax credit after GM changed its battery source to address two minor components. The all-electric midsize Blazer SUV can now be purchased with a $7,500 tax rebate too.

  • Ford Mustang Mach-E
  • Ford E-Transit
  • Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring PHEV
Back in December, Ford sent a notice to dealers that read, “While we are awaiting finalized requirements from the government, based on current information, it is unlikely that any Mustang Mach-Es will qualify for the Federal Tax Credit beginning on 1/1/24.” It is suspected that the Mach-E’s ineligibility is due to Ford using LFP batteries from CATL, a Chinese batter maker, per CarsDirect.

Although the $7,500 tax credit for Ford’s F-150 Lightning will remain, along with the $3,750 incentive for the plug-in hybrid Ford Escape and Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring, the incentive will no longer be available for the plug-in hybrid Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring.

Current incentives of up to $7,500 in tax credits for select electric cars, plug-in hybrids and hydrogen-powered vehicles that meet government qualifications continue to be updated by the Inflation Reduction Act. The U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy has an up-to-date list of qualifying vehicle

Ms raimondo is right that Huawei's M60 mobile phone chip is behind the best American chip, and even if China's homegrown EUV is successfully developed within three years, it will lag behind the best ASML products.

Going from zero to one is the most difficult stage, going from one to a hundred is much easier.
Huawei has resumed the frequency of releasing new products, let's see what new products and chips Huawei will release in the next year or two. (I heard the news that Huawei's mobile phone chips will reach the best level of Qualcomm chips)

Ms raimondo is happy with the status quo, because America remains ahead. I think the Chinese will also be satisfied, because of the progress of localized semiconductor production.

China and the United States have finally reached a win-win situation
