New article:

It might shock you but the fact is India depends on China for APIs, or the required raw materials, even for paracetamol, a common antipyretic and anti-inflammatory drug. Consider this: India's Aurobindo Pharma Ltd. gets about 55% of its raw materials for ingredients from China, as per a Bloomberg report

Since you are doing google search, you actually know that the API dependency has gone down considerably in recent years. APIs are highly polluting base chemicals. Reason people used China was because no one else wanted to pollute their rivers and lands. But with the CCP's wolf warrior stupidity, countries like India will manufacture some on its own soil and import others from several countries. After the Apple supply chain moves, the CCP bots here must understand that India is not dependent on China for anything. China will be yet another supply chain partner for India. That is all...

China has the highest number of "lighthouse factories"- manufacturers that show leadership in using Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, the Securities Times reported on Thursday.
Twelve Chinese companies have been included in the 11th batch of "lighthouse factories" list released by the World Economic Forum, making the total of Chinese factories on the list reach 62.
Global Lighthouse Network is a community of manufacturers showing leadership in using Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies to transform factories, value chains and business models for compelling financial and operational returns, according to World Economic Forum.
It is a World Economic Forum initiative in collaboration with McKinsey which examines the future of operations and considers how Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies are shaping production.
The number of China's "lighthouse factories" grew explosively with diversified highlights. As of December 2023, the world has a total of 153 "lighthouse factories" - 40.52 percent of which are located in China.
From the perspective of industry distribution, China's "lighthouse factories" are mostly concentrated in bulk consumption areas, including household appliances, automobiles and other industries, with a total of more than 20 "lighthouse factories", accounting for nearly one-third of the total.
In recent years, China has made continuous breakthroughs in the field of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data and 5G, and manufacturing companies are at the forefront of digital, intelligent and green transformation, promoting China to gradually move from a major manufacturing country in the world to a manufacturing powerhouse.
China's remarkable achievements in the development of "lighthouse factories" reflect the country's strong strength and competitiveness in the field of manufacturing, the report said.
Haier products are trash. Any day Bosch products which also manufactures in India.

Amid the fourth industrial revolution and the emerging AI applications around the globe, manufacturers are rapidly adopting AI, sensors, and communications technologies to build their factories to improve productivity, yields, and costs.

According to the World Economic Forum (WEF), as of December 2023, the world has added 21 new lighthouses where manufacturers or service providers use advanced ICT technologies across their facilities. Among the new entrants are Haier's Hefei facility, Ingrasys's facility in Taoyuan, CATL's facility in Liyang, and GAC AION New Energy's facility in Guangzhou. There are 153 lighthouses worldwide, and China, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa accounted for the majority. By Industry, 83 of the 153 lighthouses are engaged in advanced industries, and most are factories for manufacturers.
According to the World Economic Forum, lighthouses are manufacturers showing leadership in applying the fourth industrial revolution (4IR) technologies at scale to drive step-change financial, operational, and sustainability improvements by transforming factories, value chains, and business models.
Notably, many new lighthouses introduced AI technologies in their facilities to massively improve their productivity. The Security Times China quoted WEF saying that AI and machine learning gave rise to a production revolution on a global scale, and lighthouses are eager to adopt AI technologies, such as Foxconn Industrial Internet (FII).
Lin Shangyi, head of the Nanqing lighthouse project of FII, told the Security Times China that by introducing AI to assist in demand forecasting, the facility has significantly improved its accuracy in demand prediction, greatly enhancing its on-time delivery capabilities.

Those 8 spies, former navy offciers captured by Qatar, heard they are returned to India by diplomatic effort, do you think they still kept their hands and feet uncut under sharia law?
lol...this is new India. Any country messing with Indians will get a hundred times misery reflected in return. There was no proof of these people involved in spying activities. Qatar is a small, snobbish nation acting high and mighty. We know how to deal with it - mainly increasing local production of LNG, already happening.
No one, I repeat no one can afford to mess with today's India.

Pity she didn't mention the sidewalk latrines of China. Those are quite something.
Actually Chinese hygiene is one of the worst in the world, arising from the Great Leap backward days. Most don't shower and probably don't brush their teeth as well, as you can see rapid yellowing of their teeth. Not to mention the hundreds of cancer villages where peasants died from toxic exposure to E-waste recycling and drinking arsenic-laced waters. China is what we can call a true hellhole by any standard.

Not the 30-40% debt fueled real estate ponzi scheme?
Thanks to so many developers for their contribution to China's economy,
China has more world-class cities, better infrastructure, tens of thousands of kilometers of high-speed rail, and better healthy life expectancy.

All you have is waste. You have none of those. You cannot just build and become world class. This type of moronic reasoning is why China is never able to get ahead. HK is a prime example. After CCP's take over, HK economy has been destroyed and all it is left with is crumbling infrastructure. No one even wants to go to Tier 1 Chinese cities any more. Air travel to Tier 1 Chinese cities from across the world (especially to Japan and S.Korea) has fallen by 90%.

China Jumps to Third Place in Kearney's 2024 FDI Confidence Index

China Jumps to Third Place in Kearney's 2024 FDI Confidence Index
China Jumps to Third Place in Kearney's 2024 FDI Confidence Index
(Yicai) April 9 -- China moved up four slots to take the third position in this year's Foreign Direct Investment Confidence Index, signaling a surge in foreign firms' local units and factories in the next three years, according to American consulting firm Kearney.
Only the United States and Canada, which have held onto the top two spots in the index for 12 straight years, rank above China, the Chicago-headquartered management consulting firm said in a report released yesterday. The annual executive survey shows which countries are likely to gain the most FDI in the next three years.
The world's second-largest economy was No. 1 in a corresponding ranking for emerging markets, surpassing the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and India.
China has a large economic scale and possesses a more stable and positive policy environment compared to some other emerging countries, He Xiaoqing, China head of Kearney, said at a press conference yesterday.
"In recent years, the Chinese government has consistently conveyed a positive stance on strengthening openness to the outside world," He said, giving examples of opening up foreign investment in the banking sector, fully lifting restrictions on foreign investment in the manufacturing industry, as well as easing market access for telecommunications, healthcare, and other service industries. Moreover, after giving visa-free access to German and French citizens, the exemption policy was expanded to six more European countries, continuously boosting investor confidence, she added.
Companies are feeling more optimistic about investing abroad. Some 88 percent of polled executives said that they are planning to increase their global FDI in the next three years, up 6 percentage points from last year. The level of net optimism on the global economy rose to 64 percent while net pessimism decreased to 29 percent from 35 percent.
Kearney also mapped executives' takes on artificial intelligence. More than 70 percent of them said they are using AI moderately or significantly in business operations, expecting to apply AI to improve customer service and chatbots, automate manual processes, and enhance supply chains. Some 63 percent of respondents said they will increase the use of AI to guide investment decisions, reduce costs, as well as improve efficiency and decision-making accuracy.
The latest survey, conducted in January, targets business leaders from firms with annual revenues of USD500 million or more in 30 countries. Most participants are service providers at 46 percent, followed by industrial companies at 45 percent, and the remainder are information technology firms. Kearney has published the annual report since 1998.

a lot of propaganda, to have clean water you need clean rivers and China has lots of rivers polluted

China's extraordinary economic growth, industrialization, and urbanization, coupled with inadequate investment in basic water supply and treatment infrastructure, have resulted in widespread water pollution. In China today approximately 700 million people--over half the population--consume drinking water contaminated with levels of animal and human excreta that exceed maximum permissible levels by as much as 86% in rural areas and 28% in urban areas. By the year 2000, the volume of wastewater produced could double from 1990 levels to almost 78 billion tons. These are alarming trends with potentially serious consequences for human health. This paper reviews and analyzes recent Chinese reports on public health and water resources to shed light on what recent trends imply for China's environmental risk transition. This paper has two major conclusions. First, the critical deficits in basic water supply and sewage treatment infrastructure have increased the risk of exposure to infectious and parasitic disease and to a growing volume of industrial chemicals, heavy metals, and algal toxins. Second, the lack of coordination between environmental and public health objectives, a complex and fragmented system to manage water resources, and the general treatment of water as a common property resource mean that the water quality and quantity problems observed as well as the health threats identified are likely to become more acute
.
Approximately 70% of China’s rivers and lakes are unsafe for human use. Effective implementation of existing pollution standards can improve the health and well-being of people across China

Water pollution is a persistent problem in China, in part, because local governments fail to implement water quality standards set by national and provincial authorities. These higher authorities often lack regular information about the immediate and long-term achievement of remediation targets.

Recent estimates suggest that water pollution causes more than 100,000 deaths and USD 1.46 trillion in economic losses each year in China (1).

2. Water Pollution
High on the list of environmental issues in China is water pollution. As much as 90% of the country’s groundwater is contaminated by toxic human and industrial waste dumping, as well as farm fertilisers, causing about 70% of rivers and lakes to be unsafe for human use. Nearly half of the population does not have access to water that is safe for human consumption, while two-thirds of the rural population has to rely on tainted water due to a lack of adequate systems to treat wastewater.

Perhaps it's their way of honoring their dearly departed leader.
