I read somewhere that the survival rate of a species introduced to a new environment is only around 50% or less.

So, is the deaths of these Cheetahs out of the ordinary or the norm?
out of 20 that are brought here, five imported + 3 cubs born here are dead. expect more to die.
ultimately survival of the fittest, it's the cubs born here that survive and their litter that are important.

I suspect that it has to do with their immune systems. Drinking the local waters may be harmful to your health if you have not built an immunity to it.

Looks like this project has been learning experience for wildlife conservationists in the country.

How are the cheetahs doing now in India? Have they finally adapted or is it still precarious?
