I guess refitwork of Delhi is over and new inclined launcher replaced KH-35Two Brahmos tests today, INS Delhi inclined launcher and Su-30 MKI
Missed the pyramid by a couple of meters.Brahmos sans warhead exit wound - an experience the Pakis know first hand.

Indian navy has no minesweepers , the target ship was a minesweeper.Does anyone know as to what happens to this test target ship?
Can it be towed back to shore, welded up & used as target again?

The pyramid is radar reflector they use to make radar returns strong and a confirm kill, in operational warship there will be several electronic element presents which will act as amplifier for radar returns in Decominsed ships these electrical element's removed so there will be probability of error so to avoid this we use radar reflector on live firing exerciseMissed the pyramid by a couple of meters.

Yupp we need Brahmos in massive numbers along with scalable manufacturing capability during war.Why is that we can only make 100 Brahmos per year? What is the bottle neck here? Is it 100% fully indigenous? What does it take to churn out 3,000 Brahmos missiles a year? Apart from the cost what is holding back?
Brahmos would be crucial in the initial moments of the war against China or Pakistan or 2 front war. Taking out enemy assets with pin point accuracy within 48 hours is going to change the tide of the war. Chinese will definitely be using as many rockets as they can in their arsenal. With Brahmos range increased to 800km I believe this will be a massive advantage for Indian Army to wipe out enemy air assets and their artillery positions. And Naval Brahmos taking out few ships during the initial moments will be a psychological blow for the enemy. The future wars will be quick.
In a real war scenario the warship will be maneuvering as well, I wonder do they test under such conditions as well? All these tests show static target onlyThe pyramid is radar reflector they use to make radar returns strong and a confirm kill, in operational warship there will be several electronic element presents which will act as amplifier for radar returns in Decominsed ships these electrical element's removed so there will be probability of error so to avoid this we use radar reflector on live firing exercise
Common sense suggests Brahmos should be fired in a salvo if the target is deemed critical and probably the expenses on an additional 1-2 missiles is justified depending on the target. Dont want the risk of letting a prized target limp back to safety because of some margin of error situation and we went baniya on it.In a real war scenario the warship will be maneuvering as well, I wonder do they test under such conditions as well? Most of time this targets won't be static they may propelled by means of tugboat, also warship maneuverability much more limited than a cruise missile which can make rapid maneuvers or direction change, so in conclusion if a cruise missile be it Bhramos or paki Babar if they can hit a target in simulated test it can also hit in real scenario, the difference of their probability to hit the ship based on the counter counter defensive systems and tactics,In a real war scenario the warship will be maneuvering as well, I wonder do they test under such conditions as well? Why? Does India government gets too much money? Why is that we can only make 100 Brahmos per year? What is the bottle neck here? Is it 100% fully indigenous? What does it take to churn out 3,000 Brahmos missiles a year? Apart from the cost what is holding back?
Basically, wiping out the all enemy's military assets within striking range with pure missiles attack is only existing in PC game. In the real world, it is much more complicated, your enemy can hide, move, set up decoy or quickly repair. More importantly, your enemy can fight back.Brahmos would be crucial in the initial moments of the war against China or Pakistan or 2 front war. No, salvo strike means simply using the number to overwhelm enemy's defense system around the critical target. If enemy can shoot down 6 missiles in one wave, just launch 7 in one wave.Common sense suggests Brahmos should be fired in a salvo if the target is deemed critical and probably the expenses on an additional 1-2 missiles is justified depending on the target. I am only an arm-chair expert and stand corrected! No, salvo strike means simply using the number to overwhelm enemy's defense system around the critical target. If enemy can shoot down 6 missiles in one wave, just launch 7 in one wave.
Generally, 2 missiles just means you have 100% confidence about the accuracy and reliability of your missiles, and there is no effective air defense system between you and target at all.
Old newsIndia test fires submarine-launched version of BrahMos missile
India today successfully carried out the maiden test firing of the over 290 km-range submarine-launched version of BrahMos supersonic cruise missile in the Bay of Bengal becoming the first country in the world to have this capability.
The submarine-launched version of BrahMos was successfully test-fired from an underwater pontoon near here, BrahMos CEO A. Sivathanu Pillai told PTI.
This is the first test firing of an underwater supersonic cruise missile anywhere in the world and the missile travelled its complete range of over 290 kms, he said.
He said the performance of the missile during the test launch was “perfect“.
Ship and ground-launched versions of the missile have been successfully tested and put into service with the Indian Army and the Navy.
The maiden test of the submarine-launched version of BrahMos comes over a week after the indigenously built long-range subsonic cruise missile Nirbhay failed to hit its target in its first test.
“BrahMos missile is fully ready for fitment in submarines in vertical launch configuration which will make the platform one of the most powerful weapon platforms in the world,” Pillai said.
Defence Minister A K Antony congratulated DRDO scientists and Russian specialists along with officers of the Indian Navy associated with the project for successful test launch of missile from an underwater platform
