Indian security forces there are far better equipped and resources than Pakistani soldiers across LoC. For the last many years we have been given them a dispropotionate response for every firing incident. This time Indian Govt decided to publicise it. Many sr officers were against publicising our response as it could give impetus to infiltration.
Are you sure about this (the bolded part) ?
I can get it verified to the barest detail. Ok, let me do that to ascertain the presence of any truth in your statements.

Sir,i think that those soldiers were in a locked barrack made up of wood probably sleeping as it was early in the morning and when the tangos threw a grenade at the viscinity of the barrack,it caught fire trapping our bravehearts in that wooden structure.

The problem is not terrorists

But our headcount.

06 terrorists killed is hardly any news, 08 soldiers martyred is breaking news & heart wrenching.

Commanders on ground should never rush through operations. Easy does it, I reiterate at the cost of being cliched terrorists are welcome to our side, check in any time, but remember they can never leave.

RIP our Bravehearts

See, sometimes reverses do happen. The question of perimeter security was raised in the Samba 16th Cavalry attack and the more recently attack. That must be addressed. But there are many cases where the terrs were successfully neutralised. Having Intel or being on high attention doesn't guarantee repulsion of attack. Though it increases chances many times. Still a second late in response can cause disaster. An enquiry will be set up to find the loop holes and GoI should help by all means to see that the recommendation that are proposed are implemented.

All terrorists don't have same level of training. Military has to ascertain by seeing their tactics what level of training they had. If Pak is using highly trained terrorists for Fedayeen attack, well that clearly shows their desperation.

Also, the recent gunning down of 6 terrs in Alpine dress is a 'event' in itself. Which needs to be analysed.

Also, we need to see the competence of Intel and tactics the state police and CRPF has developed who gunned down two terrs in the out-skirts of Sri Nagar before they entered the city.

From where I see, poorly trained terrs and local youths stand no chance against the security forces.

Even in the 90's when rag -tag terrs had relative success, Pak's economy took a hit. And now can they sustain?

Pakistan has lost 20 'assets' from the time the election started. Have they have what it takes to sustain?

A cat too attacks when cornered. It wants publicity. In 2003/4 when Mush signed the dotted line he didn't do for the love for India.

The BSF's action and the footage it got has acted in our favour and was a reality check for the Pakis.

Let's see who has the final laugh.

@Singh

The previous government had tied up the hands of our Army

Infact Chidambaram had the audacity to say that we should NOT show machismo
So fighting against evil is machismo

And that Mani Shankar aiyar is BEGGING for Talks with Pakistan

Where we went wrong will be found out after a probe

Or maybe the terrorists just got LUCKY

But retaliation will happen ; Pakis must be killed

Some dilution of security forces has happened due to the polls and
Modi's visits and rallies

Even now, when we were pounding the Pakis around 50 days back, Mani Shankar Aiyar criticized the Modi government for "Warmongering" and said that Modi is not allowing "peace" with Pakistan.

If this is not anti-national activity, I don't know what is.

It is during the previous government India retaliated to Pakistan raid beheading 3 Indian soldiers by killing 6-7 pak soldiers.

Anyways in today's incident 1 soldier was killed when militants open fired and threw grenades at camp gates and 3 policemen died when they reached the camp hearing gunshots and terrorists opened fire on them.

Most disturbingly 4 Army men died when terrorists set fire to their barracks.

The Lt.colonel and 2 soldiers died when militants attacked their vehicle.

All 6 terrorists were later killed by special forces.

Just now got an offer from Rahul ( Mob No.9873021885) of Times Now News to reach their studio by 8.00PM in Jaipur & give a byte on Uri Encounter.

Cant' make it because of tight time plot, but I will express here:-

No need to hyper ventilate, revenge as a dish is best served when it is cold
We need to calibrate our response, for each soldier martyred extract a price ( double casualties on Paki side ?)
Stop calling Paki delegations, singers, actors, pimps, etc to India in cultural exchanges.
Never use words like backstabbers, Dhokha etc for Pakis, it shows us as naive fools.
Be stoic, bear the hard punches on the chin, steel yourself & give it back harder with full guns blazing
Do not fraternize with the enemy when abroad, they are in a self destruct mode, let them perish, hasten the process where & when possible.

Can you call him back to tell not to invite Paki jokers (Generals) on the prime time show. Not just they have nothing constructive to add they just blabber and divert the topic.

Tell him charity begins at home.

Rest in peace fallen soldiers.

My sympathy to the bereaved families.

The worst is yet to come as more of these haramzadas will come in to sow destruction and havoc in India. You've been warned.

Desperate ISI will try more terror attacks in J&K

The assessment in the security establishment is that in view of the huge turnout in the first two phase of polling there will be more desperate attacks in the next few weeks before winter intensifies and all possible infiltration routes become inaccessible due to snow, says Nitin A Gokhale.

Six AK rifles with 55 magazines, two shotguns, two night-vision binoculars, four radio sets, 32 unused grenades and a medical kit -- the inventory of recoveries from six terrorists killed by the army in Uri on Friday gives an indication how well prepared they were to carry out a suicide attack.

Two more attacks -- one in Srinagar and the other at Tral -- within hours of the fidayeen attack on the army camp has led security managers to conclude that the Pakistan's Inter Services Intelligence is desperate to disrupt the remaining phases of voting in J&K after the first two rounds of polling witnessed more than 75 per cent voting.

Friday's well-coordinated attacks came in the wake of another fierce encounter on the Line of Control in the Naugam sector 48 hours ago on which the army gunned down six heavily armed terrorists after a 24-hour long operation at an altitude of 14,000 feet.

Rattled by the heavy voter turnout in elections, the ISI is staring at a failure of its Kashmir gamaplan. The three-tier security grid on the LoC and the well-oiled law and order machinery in the hinterland has witnessed some of the most peaceful months in Kashmir valley this year. Spurred by a desire for change and aspiring to fulfil their basic needs of bijli-sadak-paani, a majority of voters in Kashmir have turned their back on militancy and separatism.

This has upset the Pakistani calculations leading to desperate measures to push in well-armed terrorists. The fact that a leading Lashkat-e-Tayiba commander had entered Srinagar to try and target the capital city ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's election rally on Monday, points to a conspiracy hatched to create chaos in the state, intelligence and police officials say.

As more details of the attack on an artillery unit in Uri come out, it is clear that the terrorists had come prepared to die. At 3 am the camp came under heavy attack. Army troops from within the camp retaliated immediately and engaged the terrorists. Troops from neighbouring camps, who were already in a state of high alert, immediately mobilised their Quick Reaction Teams, rushing to the site and surrounding the area. In the ensuing fire fight, all six foreign terrorists were eliminated. The encounter lasted just over six hours.

Unfortunately in the initial part of the operation, one terrorist opened fire on the vehicles of the QRT of the neighbouring unit rushing to the site, in which one gypsy went off the road and overturned, leading to casualties among the security forces. The terrorist was immediately eliminated by the troops of the QRT and his body recovered.

During the operation, a barrack also caught fire, presumably because of a kerosene heater toppling, in which some soldiers got trapped. Four of them were killed. The operations continued relentlessly and by 9.30 am, the terrorists were eliminated.

During the deliberate clearing up operations which commenced thereafter, the bodies of five more terrorists were recovered, bringing the total to six terrorists eliminated.

During the intense operations, one officer and seven soldiers of the army, one ASI and two constables of the J&K police made the supreme sacrifice.

The army is continuing the operation in the surrounding areas to search out any terrorists who may still be hiding or attempting to escape.

In Delhi, Modi, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar have been briefed in detail by security managers.

The assessment in the security establishment is there will be more desperate attacks in the next few weeks before winter intensifies and all possible infiltration routes become inaccessible due to snow.
