Instead we can remove Arjun Tag and Made In India from it and then offer to our Army... Then they might be happy....Mr. Jaitley as a new Defence Minister, would you please end this debate.
Army is behaving like spoilt sport child. It does not know the virtues of what they have in their hand but wish to have more. This mk2 and mk1 should form the strike corp of the Indian army. No Pakistani tank including their T -85 or locally made in Pakistan can touch Arjun Tank. So what is Army doing to have one trials after another.
I am very sure that if Indian Army is given Abraham tank with its name plate and country of origin removed, they will find faults with it.
Some faults belong in GSQR. The way it is written in an open season for fault finding and easy access to bribe money.
Mr. Defence Minister, please end this debate, now.
Apart from weight and so called bridges issue is there any other reason to sideline Arjun .....
How many more tests do they wanna conduct....????
Is all the queries issues(cooked) during trials even justified.....
you can go for russian tin cans and wait years to get them modifief rectificied but you will not go for Arjun as its a Indian product....
Instead we can remove Arjun Tag and Made In India from it and then offer to our Army... Then they might be happy....
bridge and weight is not issue and that is proved here by many members
.
why we are not exporting arjun have many background like that of political one, antony. He and UPA was really lazy and export is not their propaganda . What they do is fake secularism
.
the other is the negative approach of indian army , hardly any army on world chooses foreign tanks rather than indigenous . The result is clear , all nation will think there is something faulty in the tank hence army not buying it
.
third one is , we don't have any infrastructure and policy for mass production and it wasn't needed cause just 124 arjun was ordered . @Pulkit
As far as military equipment goes, it is applicable to all.
Yet, that underrating cannot be taken as a norm to push to the limit, except in a crisis.
This is what is the litmus test.
Sir firstly the question was can the bridges carry Arjun then the answer is yes ....
Secondly why was is overweight... because of some tank testing in pakistan and few add ons which Russian tanks didnt has where asked by IA....
and all these do add weight to Tank...
Your armour of Arjun is better than the T90s .... Then comes your accuracy its better and prooven ....
when do we need tanks always at the time of crisis so it will be justified then ....
Instead of tin tanks (T90 ) we could have had removed few addons unnecessary or not high priority reduced weight a little say 2-3 tonne and then have inducted it...
The main bridges can handle more than 80tons, The bridges located in rural or small town and cities cannot even take care of 40tons ..
T-90 made in India is +52 tons due to kanchan Armour compare to Russian 48-49tons, But share same track width hence making its ground pressure much worse compare to MK2 ..
Sir jee ,are these tires tubeless ? because if we had a Tyre burst then whole 70 ton would roll over some one
IA use BEML`s 12 twin wheeled heavy duty full trailer to trasport MBTs ..
