I saw an old video of AMCA, found a DAS module on the nose cone and also behind the canopy.

The modules for DAS are already visible on AMCA, see the 2 diamonds, it is the front sensor.

The 2 diamond like apertures are present in F-35 as well.

It has been officially confirmed that something better than DCMAWS will be used so it must be dual band detectors working as DAS.

ok and what will it be used for. It was just to summarize this whole DAS will or won't be there. DAS is more of market lingo. 5th generation demands better situational awareness and counter measure. EW suite with other sensor pods will be there. How good integration will be is all speculation at this point. Just wanted to point out that DAS isn't such a foreign concept.

BTW, neither these DAS diamonds, nor the pitot tube is present on the model displayed this year, but that is probably 'cause they were planning to showcase the changes to the airframe only. Not sure if this DAS stuff will even be present on the TD-1 and 2. They'll most likely be introduced only in the PV-1/2/3/4.

That is a huge rocket salvo , normal range for non stealthy target is 150 200 km , as per amiet , so most probably this is much achievable .

No, I’m talking about Sensor Fusion like first the DAS detected it then the Radar locked on to it Kinda stuff. DAS would mean enhance situational awareness against incoming missiles Both A2A and S2A.

By the way is any new helmet under development for AMCA?

Hmds is becoming a standard fit on iaf fleet , also as per cats program they were doing some work on hmds , drdo will be doing something as integration of a older helmet with new amca system will be more time consuming then a new one .


Also ,as we don't have super computer capability like US , also their sensor fusion isn't fully expllited require more work to refine system , our is a different approach , but the confidence he shown about it was clear that it isn't a pentium inside gaming pc
