That is true of any air to air missile. All of them rely on guidance till they reach close enough to switch on their active seeker.

So if the link which guides the missile closer to the fighter can be fouled in akash it can be fouled in any other missile before they reach close enough to switch on their active seeker.

Also Akash is not launched in solo one vs one against a fighter.

many salvos will be fired at intruding fighter, with in the available few seconds will it be possible for a fighter to jam the link of all the missiles, which will be hopping frequencies with a quick pace,

If it is so then the whole concept of 5th gen stealth fighters are useless, because all4.5 the gen fighters can foul the link between 5th gen the fighter and the BVR missile launched from them , before the missile reaches close enough to switch their active seekers.
BVR missiles are generally fired in couples or triplets to increase the kill rate. The On board seeker is designed to take over the target even if the link command gets jammed in between.

Saurav Jha: Dr Chander, DRDO's prowess in the area of strategic missile systems is now accepted by even your worst detractors, but the same cannot be said about tactical missile systems yet. How would you respond to this?

Avinash Chander: Major systems that have already been realized in the tactical domain include the Akash surface to air missile (SAM) which has gone into bulk production and recent trials from production lot conducted by the Indian Army (IA) have been quite successful. IA will induct this system shortly. The Indian Air force has of course already inducted the Akash.
Saurav Jha: Coming back to the Akash, is there a move to upgrade the Akash, with say the addition of an onboard seeker?

Avinash Chander: We are examining various options for Akash Mk-II so that it can operate over a larger profile. One of the options is putting a seeker on board. Of course it not simply a matter of adding a seeker since it changes the entire dynamics of the missile. Nevertheless we are looking at multiple options and are certainly working on a Mark 2 version of the Akash.

Maitri project is worth the money because it helps recover sunk cost and expertise invested in Trishul project. Astra is yet to enter user trials, whatever is happening right now is development trials.
Astra MK-1 after monsoon will carry out first intercept of aerial target and he has confirmed that earlier Astra fired from Ground launcher had actually took out a real target-Avinash Chander.
If you want to have an Astra based Maitri/Trishul, you can wait several more years, by that time, Navy, Army would have already selected their missiles. Remember MICA missile was not imposed upon DRDO for maitri by any external agency, it was rather chosen by DRDO for Maitri, and they are well aware of progress on Astra project.

idrw.org had hinted possbilibty of development of low-level quick-reaction surface-to-air missile system capable of engaging aircraft, helicopters, unmanned air vehicles, drones and precision-guided munitions based on Astra Missiles-Avinash cander/

Utterly false. The enemy aircraft will not have to jam the Rajendra radar, just the command link between the control hub and the missile and Akash goes blind because it doesn't even have a semi active seeker in it's current form. A missile with an active seeker can rely on active seeker, home on using illumination from radar (semi active mode), home on jam and seek guidance from the radar via command link. So even if the enemy aircraft jams the command link, there are 3 more guidance modes available.

Dr Avinash Chander Talks about NEW Missiles | idrw.org

Speaking to Saurav Jha a reporter for Ibnlive Dr Avinash Chander DRDO Chief further revealed development of new missiles under development by Drdo . idrw.org in its earlier reports had confirmed development of many such missiles .

DRDO Chief Confirmed that a new man portable anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) for which design is over and hardware is getting developed, idrw.org few days back was first to break news of development of man portable anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) by DRDO.

He also confirmed that a new Long ranged SAM with a range of 200-250 km is on the drawing board, which is likely be a spin off our ABM technology . he also disclosed development of a quick reaction SAM which can track on move is well-advanced in the design stage. also Development of anti-radiation missile that can target enemy radars and communication facilities will also be developed and first tests will be conducted in next 3 years .

DRDO is also considering putting a seeker on board Akash MK-2 Sam so that it can operate over a larger profile . He also confirmed development of 1500-2000 km anti-ship ballistic missile (ASBM) since missile is still in design stage , missile will be only ready in next 5 to 6 years . Canister based Agni-V might be tested only after monsoon is over and more Agni -v tests are planned in future .

Astra MK-1 after monsoon will carry out first intercept of aerial target and he has confirmed that earlier Astra fired from Ground launcher had actually took out a real target , idrw.org had hinted possbilibty of development of low-level quick-reaction surface-to-air missile system capable of engaging aircraft, helicopters, unmanned air vehicles, drones and precision-guided munitions based on Astra Missiles .
the astra trials happening right now with Su-30 MKi is for studying the Astra's fitment issues on pylons, It has already hit actual targets in ground based firing it self.

Indian Army conducted successful low altitude near
boundary trial of Akash missile on 18 June 2014 from
the Integrated Test Range (ITR), Balasore. The trial was
last among the validation trials being carried out by Army
on the first-off production models of Akash supersonic
missile. The missile intercepted the very small unmanned
fast moving Banshee aerial vehicle at 30 m altitude
above sea level proving the system capability against
subsonic cruise missile. The sophisticated multi-function
radar with built-in features tracked the low flying target
continuously throughout its course. Special algorithms/
techniques developed by DRDO for overcoming the
multiple target reflections coming from the sea worked
perfectly during the mission. With this flight trial, Indian
Army accomplished all the validation trials on the first
off production models and the system is being delivered
for induction.

does this mean

revival of trishul QRSAM project &
Our own Iron Dome system development &
a system which will provide air / PGM cover to our armoured / infantry / artillary columns on the move - moving protection bubble?

IDRW is full of $hit. The QR-SAM is an ab-initio effort, a new missile from scratch.

maybe

The QRSAM is an abinitio new effort but it will definitely carry the learning and experience they have built up over all these projects

if trishul failed they will know what dosent work and what worked in trishul will be built upon

whats wrong with starting a project for our own IRON DOME type of system ?

can such a system be deployed on posts on Siachen ?

Akash missile is a beauty. If Pakistan should fear anything that India has - it is locally made radars, helicopters, and air defence systems. These will tilt the balance against Pakistan in the next war.

The Prithvi, Agni (and corresponding Pakistani missiles) will have very little impact on actual warfare. These are more publicity and feel good systems.

The short range quick reaction SAM will also happen. It would have happened if Indian program was not stopped. The difficult tech like these can take decades to develop. Patience is required in tech development.

There exists no balance with Pakistan in any field in a any manner. Even the Pakistani decision makers are well aware of this fact. This balance is a figment of fantasy created by semi illiterate crooked journalists and politicians backed by lazy carefree heads of the armed forces who just can't stop talking bullshit. The items you mentioned will certainly make us a harder target for Chinese cowboys and things will only get harder from here on.

Before making our own we were nothing but a dependent country for critical systems from outside just like Pakistan..

Now we make and design our own at home in thousands, Replenishing our war expenditure way more faster, efficient and in large cheap..

For a dependent country facing a well equipped with a well oiled defense Industry, Means defeat ..

Sir with all due respects but still we are not able to achieve Domestication of war wastage fully....
Still we are relying on Russian Weapons.... Rockets etc....

we are appraoching that optimum level .... but that is still few years away....

Shells for all our tanks is not yet perfected .... as I think do correct me... we still imports a few...
Secondly our production quality / production is low....
With recent success in the field of Rockets / Missiles have fastened the process but we still have to enter n mass production phase....

With Modi Ji "Made In India" .... I hope Indian Army and Indian Airforce will be forced to rely depend trust Indian made....

I still remember some 1000+ (not remembering the number) shells scrapped by IA .... They say it was defected but donno....
Indian Navy is trying there best but IA and IAF on the other side ... they are unable to pull i off.... Cost wise.....

We are far better than Pakistan no doubt we are more capable than them .....

but we need to admit one thing... though they have no money , there politics is a failure,There army is rogue but but They made Chinese Missiles rockets aircrafts at good rate themselves in Pakistan.....

THE WAY YOU SAY IT, it looks like they are making them indigenous, they call their JF_17 a joint venture but they havent done anything in it except financing these projects, by this definition india has been producing migs and other weaponry since 80s. just manufacturing products doesnt make them indigenous.

Dependent or not after spending about 8 times compared to Pakistan there is, nor will be any kind of balance in military power and preparedness in contrary to what ever our chiefs, know it all journalists and political stooges throw up on regular basis. For me facing a country that spends 8 times larger and have decent training means absolute annihilation. Nothing more is required. There is nothing like indigenous capability but against Pakistan it means nothing.Even if we stop all induction in every arm of the military for coming 10 years it will be very difficult for Pakistan to face India. So we should stop talking about Pakistan and start genuinely looking at the Chinese issues where home grown industries are the only solution.
