Range is not 70 km btwHere it is!
No@porky_kicker need your opinion .
Aakash ng launcher has radar inbuilt but carries fewer missile ,so is their a possibility that the launcher might be a different platform too ,and this is just for quick reaction mated with radar for early interception
Is the 35-40 km single pulse variant was tested?Range is not 70 km btw
Mo single pulse was tested ,but the missile is based on dual pulse which is quite similar to mrsam of india ,with range 70 km + , but this mussile has somewhat bigger dimensions ,so obviously range will be greater than thatIs the 35-40 km single pulse variant was tested?
Or are you indicating the range is 90 km?
Was the range of Akash NG ever stated officially?Range is not 70 km btw
Nope , mostly are stating based on conservative calculation ,but drdo will understate range that's for sureWas the range of Akash NG ever stated officially?
Is there any poster or press release that mentions range?
Are we duplicating resources? I know IA or IAF today took delivery of MRSAM system from BDL. Same range as Akash NG.Wait for Official confirmation.
=======
Akash-NG SAM successfully test fired today by DRDO. Has a range of upto 70 km.
Development of indigenous system for spural development and future upgrade at lower costAre we duplicating resources? I know IA or IAF today took delivery of MRSAM system from BDL. Same range as Akash NG.
I believe that one might be Barak system.
I am worried about orders. Akash NG isn't still production ready. At some point most of the regiments are going to be equipped with Barak and Akash NG will be left with very low orders to fulfill and armed forces will come crying citing high costs.Development of indigenous system for spural development and future upgrade at lower cost
It would be cheaper as the radar and other components are quite common with other equipment going in induction , and maybe it may replace older akash battery too , or supplement mrsam alongsideI am worried about orders. 9 squadron (18 Firing units) of MRSAM has been ordered for IAF.I am worried about orders. Akash NG isn't still production ready. By firing units are you referring to number of launchers?9 squadron (18 Firing units) of MRSAM has been ordered for IAF.
But, our requirements are huge.
Atleast 8 to 12 squadrons ( 16 to 24 FU) are required for pechora replacement.
Pechoras are currently being digitised. So we have time until their replacement.
Firing Units is kind of similar to a battery.By firing units are you referring to number of launchers?
Coz 2 launchers per squadron seems pretty low
Nothing sir just media speculationsThere are reports that the UAE and Saudi Arabia are interested in the NG variant of Akash in some corners of the defence community. What's the possibility of that?
Especially when Emiratis are buying Cheongju ADS from South Korea as well.
No one is going to buy Akash V1, there are simply too many more advanced SAMs available in the market from different sources. NG might stand a much better chance but we need to get it production ASAP.There are reports that the UAE and Saudi Arabia are interested in the NG variant of Akash in some corners of the defence community. Ng won't be exported before entery in Indian armed forces as simple as that .No one is going to buy Akash V1, there are simply too many more advanced SAMs available in the market from different sources. NG might stand a much better chance but we need to get it production ASAP.
