AK-203 is not getting scraped, AK-203 is a very important deal especially with the whole SIG-716 faulty Indian Ammunition saga. Our troops are in need of a good AR such as the AK-203.

By the way coming to that video which you have Shared by this YT channel called Indian Defence Updates than please avoid using him as a source, he Mostly will just use IDRW articles and will narrate them in a computer voice and makes all these videos, IDRW is itself not a reliable source and hence IDU is himself not reliable in turn. Also at times along with IDRW he uses other sources on the Net which are absolutely not at all reliable.

Please type irrpl in Google and see yourself
Please post information with regards to Ak-103 M. I searched on Wikipedia page of AK-103 and it does not list AK-103M as 1 of its derivatives. This is the 1st time I am hearing about this gun called AK-103 M.

Ok so according to this Twitter handle, the version of AK-203 which India will be getting will be like this. Is that What you are trying to say here?

Regardless of that, AK-203 is better than any variant of AK-103. AK-203 has better accuracy, better build quality and sturdiness etc.

Please refer to Official website of Kalashnikov

AFAIK, AK-203 will come with good amount of TOT and hence whatever TOT and Experience we gain in license Manufacturing of AK-203 in Amethi will be used in our own Indigenous Future programs to develop a Standard Rifle for our Armed forces. AK-203 is probably the last AR that we will ever be importing after which we will be making our own rifles and we will truly be "self reliant".

Did I say that we are going to get that exact AK-203 that you are mentioning here? Did I say anything like that?

No I didn't, I said Clearly that we will be getting AK-203 the "IRRPL" model of AK-203 which is very similar to AK-103 baseline and Advanced versions AFAIK.

Basically same just some stuff like folding buttstock instead of collapsible etc etc difference. I think most of our soldiers are fine with length of AK and don't need the adjustment though there might be some short ones or really tall ones who will prefer otherwise and they will be accomodated i hope.

Also some stuff could be bought later and addon. Budget is a tight rope we needed to hang on for our lives.

It's an old incident OFB being OFB cloned an AK and showed it to him with big smile and name Ak - 7 . Obviously he will protest and he did...

Unnecessary incident created by dumb Babudom. But it means nothing the whole world copies and build Aks and AR 15s no one gives a F to what others say...

once, in February 2004 where gen kalashinkov kicked up a row. The star attraction at Defexpo, a biennial defence exhibition in the capital, was being escorted around the stalls at Delhi's Pragati Maidan. He stood transfixed at the Indian Ordnance Factory board pavilion. On display there was a knock-off of his assault rifle with its distinctive banana shaped magazine. The pretense was so thinly veiled that the weapon was even called the 'AK-7'. The general made his disgust known. The OFB had illegally copied his design. His protest had an instant impact. OFB shelved the AK-7. Izhmash, the Russian factory that has produced the rifle since it was accepted for service in 1947, however did not pursue the copyright violation.

I don't know of that time, well maybe the AK-7 made by OFB was indeed an illegal copy of the AK-47 but what we are doing right now is not Illegal copying my friend.

AK-203 is to be built in India under licence and we have signed a deal for it to so, we are not doing any kind of illegal copying over here! There is a difference between licensing of a design and Copying it. I don't understand why this was brought up here. Does not make any sense to me.
