This is not to bring back the so-called 'LTTE nutcases' from death. Now, our band of brothers chose political ways to handle these brutal killers.

Panic already in the high commission of SL and in SL Govt, maybe the poor civilians (sinhala) still dreaming about their so-called 'victory over LTTE, militarily crushed LTTE, end on LTTE' and so on. we waited more than 30 yrs and ready to wait for a decade or so to get our rights and own 'Ezham home land'.
So get ready to sacrifice another bunch of nutcases

[h=2]Tiger stamps: Lanka to defy UPU laws [/h]Tiger stamps: Lanka to defy UPU laws | Breaking News

Sri Lanka's postal authorities have decided to defy rules and regulations stipulated by the Universal Postal Union (UPU) when dealing with letters and parcels with stamps bearing the emblem of the LTTE and the image of its late leader, officials said yesterday.

Already, there are reports that members of the pro-LTTE Tamil diaspora have issued personalised stamps bearing the emblem of the beleaguered LTTE in France, Britain and Canada. First, it was reported in France, and the issue was taken up diplomatically.

According to the UPU Treaty, stamps of member nations are accepted for the entire international route of mailing.

Post Master General M.K.B. Dissanayake said he informed La Poste, the French postal authority, not to send any parcel or letter with such stamps to Sri Lanka.

"In this case, we will act according to domestic rules and regulations whatever has been stipulated by the UPU. For us, the interest of Sri Lanka is more important than anything else," he said.

The LTTE is a banned organisation in Sri Lanka. Accordingly, it is prohibited to use the emblem of the LTTE within the country. Also, the organisation remains banned in several other countries including the European Union.

However, he said he was yet to receive reports about stamps printed in Canada and Britain.

Earlier, the External Affairs Ministry, on behalf of the Sri Lankan government, registered its official protest with the French Embassy in Colombo over the issuance of such stamps. The French authorities admitted later that it was a mistake.

Asked for a comment, a spokesman of the External Affairs Ministry said the stamps printed in France were personalised stamps. The spokesman said these stamps would not be used in that country and therefore any problem would not arise in the future.

That is an interesting step by SL.

Though it may contravene the UPU rules, but then it also affects SL's national policy to allow letters carrying such stamp that is an anathema to the SL Govt.

It will be an interesting situation to watch as to know the UPU and the international comity of nations would react.

Even the use of these stamps for letters within and outside the countries printing these stamps as official, would be an affront to SL.

SL should protest against the use of such stamps and should issue démarches.

[h=1]Canada Post says no LTTE stamps[/h]FLASH: Canada Post says no LTTE stamps | The Sunday Leader
The Canada Postal Corporation has told the Sri Lankan High Commission in Canada that it has not printed stamps promoting the LTTE's separatist agenda. According to the external Affairs Ministry, following reports in the LTTE affiliated websites and media on the alleged issue of a personalised stamp by Canada Post Corporation promoting the LTTE's separatist agenda which also includes a reference to "genocide", the High Commission of Sri Lanka in Canada on 3rd January 2012 sent two letters, one to Denis Lebel, MP, Minister responsible for Canada Post Corporation and the other to Deepak Chopra, President and CEO of Canada post to register Sri Lanka's protest and expressing the deep concern of the High Commission on this matter.

This issue was also brought to the notice of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Canada.

In the said letter, the High Commission while drawing attention to the LTTE affiliated organisations and their activities in Canada, requested Canada Post to take immediate steps to withdraw the stamp in question from circulation and to initiate an inquiry on how such a stamp came to be issued by Canada Post. The letter also drew attention to the propaganda activities carried out by the front organizations of the LTTE.

Deepak Chopra, President and Chief Executive Officer of Canada Post Corporation in his letter dated 9th January 2012 addressed to the High Commissioner Chitranganee Wagiswara states "I had this matter reviewed immediately upon receipt of your letter. Please be assured that the image has never been printed by Canada Post; it is a false representation of our picture postage programme and is being fully investigated by our Security Department". The letter further states that the postage stamp "was not printed by our picture postage programme and is in no way part of our official philatelic programme which goes through a very careful selection process including approval by our Board of Director".
