Gun and IFR will part of FOC tejas?
EW suite is already been tested on PV.
All of the missiles requires are already been in integration phase.
Mainitenability is resolving in each SP's.

Only remaining item for SOP18 should be AESA radar
Has the Gsh cannon been tested in flight? I think not ; the intense vibration from the cannon will have some impact on the aircraft stability particularly when it has an inherently unstable design .

Hi,
I came across this thread in Quora. It looks like no one from the Tejas team has responded on this. So, Too Many negative comments which only talk History, but, not enough cold appraisals. For ex. Someone wrote that, high indigenous component of Tejas is a disadvantage.

Could experts here, contribute on this thread and provide the link, so, that we can vote to push this up? This is extremely important.

DOnt worry according to bharath rakshak 26 deg plus AOA is completed & about to be certified,

Performance of tejas at 26 degree AOA was good, SO all lies on tejas coming to end.

you think he will read these things and prefer your concern on these matters :dude::dude:
He has already read everything on Tejas & pulled ADA-HAL_IAF together with 13 meetings spread over an year to come to the tejas mk1A standard.

Since now DM has a separate scientific advisor Sadeesh reddy , a distinguished scientist dumping tejas by IAF is not possible any more

bullshit peoples thinks social media and #tag changes India and it's policy

grow up kids
Thats what lot of folks thought about SM in May 2014 & #brexit, & trump election, But it turned out the other way, SO running a campaign to high light tejas is very good thing to do,

It also takes tejas internation with high visibility

There is #Tejas_LCA hashtag also to writ about tejas,

I guess that this is not the DM which can be fooled around with imported maal, he gives top most importance to indigenous products. Good job.

They can still be pitted against each other in different scenarios. That will help with operational 'doctrine' development. It will give more realistic view of actual combat capabilities
In exercises like Red flag in USA when groups of aircraft are pitted against each other , how is it decided which group won? Are there electronic targets and mock missiles to register hits????

yes, it's called the AIS pod which is on aircraft will collect all data from it's sensors and sends it to CCS.I saw some of the photos of those pods from a guy who works at Nellis air base. NACTS (Nellis Air Combat Training System) is currently being used.

NACTS is used to make Simulated Targets such as tank or SAM's sites

There is a company called Cubic defence which makes this kind of equipment, that company trains mostly military lucky I got to visit two of their sites in Canada one to train Canadian forces and other to train british forces in Canada and British forces does not have space to conduct large scale tank exercise in their own country so they come every year to Canada for annual exercises

HAL WORKING ON LCA TEJAS REFUELING PROBE - PICTURES

Cobham In-flight Refueling Probe is used for the TEJAS - Image: Cobham

Nearly a year ago UK based company "Cobham" handed over the in-flight refueling probe for integration with TEJAS-Mk1. HAL is planning to start the first trail runs in the next few weeks. LSP-8 stopped flying from Jan this year for probe integration and land based trails have been carried out after structural modifications was done on the aircraft. Software upgrades were also implemented to enable fuel sensors to detect mid-air fuel supply and to show correct fuel capacity to the pilots.
The first phase will see LSP-8 starting test flights in the next few weeks to conduct carriage trials and later mockup trails where IAF's IL-78 air-to-air tanker will be used to simulate fuel supply to the TEJAS. The second phase will see actual contact with the fuel transferring system with the tanker aircraft and actual fuel transfer will take place.
Engineers have been toiling for more than a year now to install the imported Cobham refueling probe on he TEJAS, the integration is a complex and exclusive process. The TEJAS will have a fixed refueling configuration and the LSP-8 is likely to be test flown with this new technology.

New Tejas Fighter/Attack Jet will Equip INS Vishal Supercarrier and INS Vikrant Carrier

India's indigenous HAL Tejas Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) will serve aboard the nuclear powered supercarrier, INS Vishal (currently under development), but will first see active service on the INS Vikrant now being fitted out and due to join the Indian Navy in December 2018.
The naval version of Tejas is the only fixed wing combat aircraft confirmed as part of both carriers' combat air groups. Its key role will likely be as an attack aircraft launching precision guided missiles and bombs at enemy warships or ground targets.
Two Tejas naval prototypes successfully conducted test flights at the "Shore Based Test Facility" (a full-scale model of an aircraft carrier deck) in Goa.
The Ministry of Defense recently approved the acquisition of 40 Tejas' for the IN and 83 for the Indian Air Force.
Tejas is a single-seat, single-jet engine, multi-role light fighter designed by HAL's Aeronautical Development Agency for the IAF and the IN. Stealth features have been designed into Tejas, which can carry up to 4,000 kg of bombs and missiles and is armed with one GSh-23 twin-barreled autocannon.
The air group on the INS Vishal will consist of up to 55 aircraft: 35 fixed-wing combat aircraft and 20 helicopters. The fixed wings will be launched using a catapult assisted take-off but arrested recovery (CATOBAR) aircraft launch system with the new electromagnetic aircraft launch system (EMALS) technology.
The technology is from U.S. defense contractor, General Atomics, which also produces the MQ-9 Reaper unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) and is producing a version of an electromagnetic railgun for the U.S. Navy.
The role of aerial superiority fighter for the INS Vishal is up for grabs but what is certain is it won't include the Mikoyan MiG-29K multirole fighter to be deployed aboard the INS Vikrant.
Leading contenders for this key role on the INS Vishal include France's Dassault Rafale, a naval version of which (the Dassault Rafale M) already serves aboard the French aircraft carrier, Charles de Gaulle, as part of French Naval Aviation (Aéronavale).
The Indian Cabinet last September approved a deal to buy 36 Rafale fourth-generation, multirole jets from Dassault Aviation as part of the air force's ongoing force modernization program. IAF Rafales will be able to carry nuclear bombs.
The Rafales give India a weapon potent enough to deal with Pakistan's U.S.-made General Dynamics F-16 air superiority fighter jets and the PAC JF-17 Thunder multi-role fighters produced jointly by Pakistan and China.
The United States' fifth generation stealth fighter, the Lockheed Martin's F-35c Lightning II and the combat proven McDonnell Douglas F/A 18 Hornet that serves aboard all of the U.S. navy's 10 Nimitz-class supercarriers are also in contention for the role of air superiority fighter aboard the INS Vishal.
The INS Vikrant will carry 15 MiG-29Ks and 15 Tejas'. There will also be 10 rotary wings aboard this carrier, including the Kamov Ka-31 airborne early warning and control helicopters; the indigenous HAL Dhruv utility helicopter and the British-built Westland WS-61 Sea King transport utility helicopters.
