China is putting far more money into Pakistan than USA ever did. While USA aid never exceeded 3B in any one year, China put like 15B last year.

We are into weird times.

International relations can change overnight when facts supporting them change.

US relations with Pakistan are broken. A dog cannot have two masters. USA understands well that China has taken it's place in Pakistan.

While I agree that India did not carry much weight in Washington, events are moving rather fast nowadays. Last two years have been crazy fast.

That is the situation today, turks are developing their own subsystems for T129. Am example is UMTAS ATGM which will be the primary ATGM of t129 going forward. An export to Pakistan will give them yet another export market which will lead to development of better turkish weapons to be used against india. Not to mention that Pakistanis can get better concession from turks in terms of local production, indigenization. They will not receive any such concession from Americans

To build an engine from scratch and induct it may take a decade for Turkey... Till then we will be far ahead with ours. Our very own LCH took a decade to mature and now TD4 is going into production albeit in small quantity. Also HAL is eyeing for Heavy Combat helicopter like Apache once large orders of LCH is placed. We have edge with LCH now if we produce in numbers and next upcoming heavy combat helicopter both being indegineous. Turkey/ Pak/ china lags behind...

Simple answer is that this heli is a problem & US was and never will be a "friend" as you expect it to be. Understandably their interests are there priority.
