Indian Su-30 MKI dont use the Russian Wingtip Jammers, basically they are counter productive as they seem to affect performance. But rather than a pod, it would be better if all IAF fighter planes have an internal ASPJ that might be a very useful avionics to have rather than an external pod

My bad ... yes they are Israel's. One thing is interesting though, how jamming was effectively used against BVRAAM missile.

Basically and in general, Su-30 has an intended jammer, which is called Khibiny. The jammer is being installed nowadays on Su-30, Su-34 and Su-35.

Sukhois hobbled by lack of blast pens near LoC
The consequences of an inordinate delay in building hardened shelters, called blast pens for the Su-30 fighter jets of the Indian Air Force in forward areas were felt during the recent aerial combat between India and Pakistan. The project was sanctioned only at the end of 2017, two decades after the jets were bought, a defence source said.
“Owing to the bureaucratic delays, we could not develop blast pens for Su-30 MKIs near the Line of Control [LoC]. The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) sanctioned the project only at the end of 2017,” the source said. Hence, the jets could not be forward deployed along the LoC, and they were scrambled from behind to intercept the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) jets that tried to bomb Indian military installations, the official said, explaining why the MiG-21 jets were the first responders during the aerial combat a day after the Balakot air strike.
“The project will take three or four years to complete,” the official said, but declined to spell out the number of pens to be built or their cost.
On the morning of February 27, over 20 PAF jets, including F-16s, JF-17s and a few older Mirages, briefly crossed the LoC and attempted to drop H4 glide-bombs, but were intercepted by eight MiG-21 Bison jets. Mirage-2000s and Su-30MKIs were scrambled from bases around but MiG-21s were the closest and reached the location immediately and engaged the PAF jets. While an F-16 was shot down, the IAF lost a MiG-21.

The IAF got the first batch of Su-30s from Russia in 1996 and has since contracted 272 aircraft, of which 240 have been inducted. But the construction of blast pens was not included in the original deal with Russia. So the IAF put up a proposal when Air Chief Marshal N.A.K. Browne was the IAF chief. He served as the Chief of Air Staff from August 2011 to December 2013.
Panel’s comments
The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence pointed to the delay in building these shelters in a 2016 report. “Hardened shelters are not available for even the limited numbers of aircraft available with the service,” it noted.
The blast pens protect the aircraft from strikes by enemy jets or missiles. In the 1965 war with Pakistan, the IAF lost several aircraft in the open. A repeat of this was avoided during the 1971 war.

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) expects an additional order of one squadron of about 20 frontline Sukhoi-30MKI fighters to keep its fighter production lines going till it starts manufacturing 83 Light Combat Aircraft Tejas Mark 1A fighters by 2023.
HAL Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) R. Madhavan made these announcements at Aero India to dispel the impression that it’s facing an existential dilemma after the production run of its cash cow, the Sukhoi Su-30MKI comes to an end in 2020-21. Madhavan and his top brass also sought to play down the financial distress at HAL, claiming that there was only a problem of “cash flows” which will be sorted out soon. “We hope to get an order for another squadron of Su-30MKI.
We have made a proposal to the Government,” the HAL chief announced.
Madhavan and his Director (Engineering R&D) Arup Chatterjee also laid out a blueprint for the future of fighter production, which has been HAL’s mainstay for decades. They expressed belief that it is best placed to build India’s next multi-role fighter, the process for acquiring 114 of which has commenced. Another 57 are required by the Navy. HAL has already entered into a tripartite arrangement with Boeing and Mahindra to offer the F/A-18 Super Hornet.
“We expect the order for 83 Mark 1A LCA Tejas fighters in one or two months,” the HAL CMD further announced. The problem is that the Mark 1A variant has not yet been developed. But HAL believes that this is not a big hurdle, now that Mark 1 has been certified for combat capability with a Final Operational Clearance (FOC). The Mark 1A variant requires retro-fitment of an AESA radar, and expansion of the avionics envelope.
Madhavan also dispelled doomsayers with the assertion that HAL still has an order book worth `65,000 crore. ‘With the 83 Tejas fighters and helicopter orders, we should be comfortable,” he said. HAL expects a Limited Series Production order for 15 Light Combat Helicopters (LCH) soon. “The LCH orders will go up to 180,” Madhavan claimed. He also expects additional orders for the Advanced Light Helicopter Dhruv. Then, there are plans to upgrade the 45 MiG-29K deck-borne fighters of the Indian Navy. HAL’s is aiming for certification of its Basic Trainer Aircraft HTT-40 this year. There’s a requirement for 70 trainers for the IAF.

“The Sukhoi Su-30SM fighter jet will be standardized with the 4++ generation Su-35 fighter by upgrading its onboard equipment and armament to breathe a new life into the plane,” Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov told journalists. Su-30SM fighters would also get AL-41F-1S engines mounted on the Su-35 planes thus increasing thrust to be able to carry heavier armaments.
The upgrade will boost the fighter’s combat capabilities, increasing the range of detecting and identifying air targets and furnish the plane with new precision weapons to hit air, ground and sea targets at a range of several hundred kilometers.
Irkut Corp had announced last week that the prototype of heavily upgraded Su-30SM would be ready before the end of 2019.

I m not expert. As I read in lot of replies that su30 operates in defensive role does it mean it will never be in offensive role? If yes why

That depends on Scenario when 2 aircrafts detected and tracked earlier they end up in defensive role . By the way don't follow trishul blog blindly ,his logic contradicts himself.

The missiles have also been made lighter for being carried on the fighter plane.
Once successfully integrated, the BrahMos would be a game changer for the country's air combat capability due to the strike range and lethality of the missile.
The retrofitting of the aircraft is expected to be completed by 2020, Indian Air Force (IAF) sources revealed. "It is a very important project considering IAF's evolving requirement to boost air power when the possibility of a two-front war cannot be ruled out," an Indian government official said.
Up until now, only two IAF Su-30 MKI fighters have been converted to fire the new 2.5-ton supersonic air-to-surface cruise missile. Due to the size and weight of the BrahMos-A, each Su-30 MKI can only carry one missile in a transport launch canister.
The IAF test fired a BrahMos-A from a Su-30 MKI in November successfully destroying a naval target. The IAF has conducted several tests of the BrahMos-A in 2016 and 2017.
Modifications in order for the Su-30 MKI to carry and launch the BrahMos-A include reinforcing the aircraft's undercarriage in addition to various mechanical, electrical and software upgrades.
