It will happen very soon in a few years with domestic equipment.I had a question, Super 30 Upgrade for the Flanker , when is it happening. If somebody has pertinent information please share.
AL-41F Saturn Engines have been ditched afaik, the radar will be India’s indigenous UTTAM AESA Radar while no info on the jammer with me. Maybe it will be retained as it is already very powerful. Currently IAF is focussing on AMCA.Will it include N0.1 BARS Radar being replaced with AESA Radar, secondly IAF will be retaining the Israeli Jammer in the tail. Any possibility of replacement of AL-31FN engines?
Unproven. Not saying that it is bad, but we haven't seen anything but paper specs. Abrams is battle hardened.U won't agree on S400 although majority defence experts do. Fine. T14 Armata.
Minor correction, considering most of the industry of Russia doesn't need any foreign equipment or help so i would suggest using PPP wise numbers, which is 4 Trillion $, more than enough for them to spend good enough on R&D if they want to, not saying your hypothesis is incorrect.Yes upgrades and modernization
US does that because it has fund
India spend 100 billion $ a year on its R&D
Which will increased to 200 billion by 2025
While Russians
Spending 60 % of its budget for maintenance of huge Cold war legacy infrastructure
And ICBM laden Nukes
With there economy of 1.4 trillion $
Above guy is still living in Coldwar era obsessed with USSR supremacy.
Dated IMO. Needs a LAD and scaled up versions of everything going on the LCA Mk2. Few points:
well aesa radar will take some years, dcmaws will take time, aesa radar can do terrain following, sar etc. all homegrown missiles and bombs are being integrated and will be completed in few years on all su30mki. no meteor . no engine upgrade as of now. EW jammer pods like sap518 are already there.Dated IMO. Needs a LAD and scaled up versions of everything going on the LCA Mk2. Few points:
1> Scaled up GaAs AESA Uttam radar for initial 2-3 squadrons. Remaining to shift to GaN once technology is ready. And note that India has made good progress on GaN front.
2> Scaled up Indian EW suite, SDR, Sensor Fusion technology, etc with GaN modules wherever applicable.
3> 360 degrees DCMAWS cover.
4> Terrain following radar and advanced navigation system.
5> Integrated with Astra missile family, desi Scalpe, Gaurav, Gautham, Brahmos-NG, Rudram family, and all other relevant munitions. Even Meteor too since MBDA can integrate it with an Indian radar apparently.
6> Item 30 engine (nice to have), or at the very least 117S engine.
7> 4 MKIs per squadron to be modded like EA18 Growler with massive EW capability.
dcmaws will take time? its already ready and deployed on some, hindrance is russian permission to modify the airfamewell aesa radar will take some years, dcmaws will take time, aesa radar can do terrain following, sar etc. all homegrown missiles and bombs are being integrated and will be completed in few years on all su30mki. no meteor . no engine upgrade as of now. As i said it will take time. In india ready means - ready for testing which itself will take years. Also forgot to add mica missiles on su30mkidcmaws will take time? its already ready and deployed on some, hindrance is russian permission to modify the airfame
as i said they are NOT in testing mod but deployed on some frames! As i said it will take time. In india ready means - ready for testing which itself will take years. Also forgot to add mica missiles on su30mki
100 MKIs are already flying with DC-MAWS.As i said it will take time. In india ready means - ready for testing which itself will take years. Also forgot to add mica missiles on su30mki
limitation was that russia refused to give permission to modify frames for dc maws and as per agreement now for those 100 su mki russia would not be held responsible for maintenance parts, its just like getting phone repaired at un authorised shop and losing warranty100 MKIs are already flying with DC-MAWS.
The plan was to have 6 of the dcmaws sensors. Russia only agreed for 4 of them and dint give permission for all 6 (specifically for the two to be placed on the wings, if I remember correctly). I remember it from some interview with an ADA official. Thats why they were so sure that MWF will be better because they will be able to place all 6 of them.limitation was that russia refused to give permission to modify frames for dc maws and as per agreement now for those 100 su mki russia would not be held responsible for maintenance parts, its just like getting phone repaired at un authorised shop and losing warranty
