Dude I tell you to read mig shot down thread here in this forum,
It's a great thing that you can bring THE Print but not the discussions which us did during those days.
Either you think we were bluffing or you are over the moon on pakis capabilities.
Every airforce have its own capabilities, do not undermine someone else capability. Its always good to overestimate your enemy and feild counter strategies than understimating your enemy.

May be they will convert it to produce additional Tejas... or who knows may be Rafale's
There are over 400 local suppliers producing 6000 components worth $12.5 million for each MKI. You can't just replace that kind of eco-system. Those SMEs will go under without government support to retool for different production lines.

I am sure the local producers can do basic math and they didn't enter into the contracts believing it to be in perpetuity.

Besides they will still have maintenance contracts.

IAF says No to Russia’s Engine Swap offer for its Su-30MKI fleet

Russian Air Force which had decided that the fresh batch of 36 Su-30SM fighter jets will come equipped with AL-41F-1S engines from 2021 onwards to the levels that match those of the Su-35 which carries the same engine and had offered the same to India for its fleet of 272 Su-30MKI under its ” Super-Sukhoi” modernization program under consideration by IAF with Russia has been turned down. As per information coming in, IAF has decided to not to include any new engine swap upgrade under its ” Super-Sukhoi” modernization program and the focus will remain to upgrade them with new high powerful AESA Radar which will be a derivative of the one used by the Russians on its Su-57E 5th Gen fighter jet and come equipped with upgraded Avionics and electronic warfare system from Su-35 and Su-57E platforms. NPO-AL-41F-1S (117S) turbofan engine with thrust vector control is installed on the Su-35 type aircraft can generate 142 kN of thrusts with its afterburners which is just 19 kN of extra thrusts each when compared to AL-31FP engines which are equipped on the Indian Su-30MKI with thrust vectoring controls. The Russian air force has decided to swap engines of its entire Su-30SM fleet which is based on the Indian Su-30MKI build with AL-41F-1S (117S) turbofan engine which is also used on its Su-35 fleet to maintain commonality of the engine and improve its serviceability but India was offered engine swap for a different reason and it was due to ongoing technical issues with the AL-31FP engines which largely have been fixed but still, some issues remain unresolved. Recently India’s HAL has confirmed that orders for 222 units of Su-30MKI which were locally produced at its Nashik plant at the rate of 12 aircraft per year has been concluded and the company now waits for fresh orders from the IAF which might come soon for another 12 aircraft. HAL, IAF and their Russian counterparts are already in talks to modernize these jets locally and are in talks to decide technology on the offer.

(HAL have license to indigenous AL-31FP and make spares for it and overhaul it same deal for marginally modified AL-31FP is not worth it 2x123KN engines are already more than enough for VWRM conflicts now HAL should use The TOT which we received from Russia to fix AL-31FP issues and work to indigenous it.)

The same reason they are skipping 117S... price. This is going to be an upgrade on the cheap to save money for new aircraft acquisitions.

Can't we integrate more powerful version of Uttam on Su30? Will it cause problems like what T72 with Arjun Turret faced? Russian backlash?

Unless they are skipping over Russia and going for Western upgrades I don't see how it could be anything other than cost savings. To skip 117S is direct evidence of that. I fully expected Super 30 to bring MKI up to Su-35 standard.

I understand they want to save money for new aircraft, but not putting AESA on the MKI will be a terrible waste. 272 fighters with AESA, and better missiles, will substantially improve India's aerial defence.

They never said they weren't putting AESA on it, they just said they weren't getting Russian radar. They could put ELM-2052 1500 module variant for F-15.

Is Zhuk-ME AESA radar more capable than the Irbis-E radar on the Su-35.
Wasn't the Zhuk AESA meant for smaller fighters like Mig 29 bcoz it lacks range when compared to Irbis-E.
260km for Zhuk AESA compared to 400km for Irbis-E.
Also has the N036 Byelka radar completed development?

Irbis E is having monstrous power out, around 20kw, that could be the reason. IAF doesn't want to compromise on range. That zhuk radar developed is optimized for mig35
